Depends on the color clothin you wear. It's hard to see them on camo but a light color sweat pants and they stick out like sore thumbs. When you get them out here you don't pick up a few you pick up like 200 at a time. A big wod of em....

they are not impossible to see.  They are just very small.  I hear permethrin helps but who knows.  My buddy used it and he didnt really have any on em!?  In the marines we used to use clear nail polish on em and it suffocates em.  I dont know if they leave eggs under your skin i cant remember.

Permethrin...  Get it, spray it on properly and you should be ok for the most part.  Cold weather is great if your talking below 32 degrees.  Otherwise do it for your own safety as the chiggers might pose some discomfort but Lyme disease is no joke and can incapacitate you or just make life miserable!!!  The 20$ spent on the spray and the little time it takes to do your clothes is well worth it if you hunt Long Island...  To me this is as important as a tree harness and will protect my life as Lyme ticks are always present on Long Island.  Don't risk your life!!!

Try "Chiggerex Plus" which you can find at your local pharmacy. At CVS I had to ask the pharmacist for it but it is considered an "over the counter" item. So far, this has been the best product for me when it comes to relief from the horrible itching from those nasty chiggers.

I just met a guy at a Dicks who told me that a couple of times a year he gets a rash on his chest where he had a chigger bite in the past. He is convinced it lives under his skin and the rash is a result of it surfacing a couple of times a year....been to a mess of doctors with no solution. It was my first of hearing it so I dismissed him as a looney

There are many online sources for Permethrin spray...Walmart usually carries it.  When spraying your clothes, remember to spray the first eight inches or so INSIDE each pant leg and each shirt sleeve.  Also spray the inside of neck opening...waist band...pants fly...anywhere a tick might gain access to your body.

Hey Everyone! This is Louis Backlas/ Cross Over the River Outdoors. I just posted a new video to my YouTube channel that I though ya'll might get a kick out of! Have you ever used a decoy to hunt whitetails? If you haven't before you might want to start! I woke up one morning and look out my front window only  to find that my 3D deer target was in pieces all over the front lawn! A fired up buck decided to take his frustrations out on the target!  this took place sometime in November during the peek of the rut. Hope ya'll get a kick out of it!

      Hey All,
New to the forum, already missing the deer season and have curiosity to quell. This was a great non-typical I was chasing all season in a bow-only area of Ithaca. Anyone know or hear of a non-typical of this caliber being killed? I'll be out scouting for him aggressively soon enough. Thanks!
      Nick

Hello folks. I'm a novice hunter from almost Central NY. I live amongst the cow fields about 20 minutes south of the ADK park. I'm here hoping that I can learn from those who know more than I do. That's probably most of you. LOL. This is my second season and so far I still have all of my tags. I have a rifle but I'm not comfortable shooting it in the area I hunt due to people being near. I'm hoping to fill at least one of my tags before Dec 19.
