Corn Beef & Cabbage

Who's having it?  I did it last week when my father was in town and it turned out awesome AND I'm doing it again tonight!  It is one of my favorites.........

 

Red potatoes, carrots and cabbage.  Mmmm good.

 

Next week it's back to venison each night.

LOVE IT!!! This is one of the few times a year we have it. Im having it tomorrow…with potatoes & carrots. I have it with a nice dark rye bread & butter………OH YEAH….!!!

No, never did corned venison.  I've thought about it but then said frig it and grind 'em up.    Seems simpler............

Irish brother-in-law just made a batch up today... returned home just a bit ago from stuffing my face... and man was it good!!!

Corned beef cabbage, potatoes, carrots. Horseradish on the beef and vinegar on the cabbage. Then stand back and keep away from sources of ignition.

Sure, I stuffed a ton of it in me ..... burp! By the way, the air quality in our house is a bit on the offensive side ever since. That cabbage can have real nasty effects.

I'm presently marinating 2 corned venison roasts for tonights church dinner.  Awesome stuff.  My Irish priest requests me to make it every year. 

 

After you roast the meat in the oven, you boil, carrots, salt potatoes and cabbage in the brine.  Make a yummy boiled dinner.

 

If anyone wants the recipe, send me a PM.  I'll ship it back to you later.  I don't have it here at work.

Leg of lamb is what most have there to celebrate.

I was a bit bummed today when I came home for lunch hoping for a cold corned beef Sammy and got an empty dish........to damned late. Momma scored it late morning as she new I'd be looking for it.

Oh well, liver sausage ain't too shabby...............!!

That is correct,The Irish were introduced to it when they arrived here and shared the neighborhood with the Jewish community on the lower east side. Ham and  turnips would be more appropriate.

Just had it a little bit ago…AAAaaaahhhh. I kind of hid the left overs in the back of the fridge behind some stuff. Hope it works……then again I just might buy another one for tomorrow..Good stuff.
