Last night.

Venison shanks braised in red wine and beef stock. Besides the normal aromatics that you start with (celery, onion and carrots) I tossed in some cherry tomatoes that I froze from the garden and a package of mixed mushrooms (baby bella, oyster and shiitaki) about half way through.

I use a ceramic pot in the oven to cook it in, but a crock pot would obviously work too.

Don't toss those shanks...after 4 hours the meat is so tender.

served with garlic broccoli and mashed potatoes...mmm!

Made some lamp shanks the other day braised in beef stock red wine garlic and a few sprigs of rosemary .. Was def a "get laid" dish!!! Def not grinding my deer shanks next year for this preparation !!!

All the kids are in the pool and the heat is on low. Beef rump roast, potatoes, baby carrots, celery, green onion, and fresh sliced garlic cloves stuffed into the meat. Everyone is bathing in onion soup mix and some red wine. Should be ready around 630pm after soccer.
