How many bucks can you shoot

with a bow in NYS. I believe two, your bow buck tag and either sex bow muzzy tag. Is that correct?

You get 1 either sex tag if you buy either a bow or mz license.  If you buy both, you get 1 either sex and 1 antlerless.  Buy you can use your regular season tag in the late season as an either sex tag.  You can only take 2 bucks per year.

Too many, I wish it was 1 buck. That would eliminate a lot of small bucks being killed just because they have another buck tag. But that's a whole other topic.

 

The answer is one regular season buck tag and one archery if you have it.

Technically 3. You get either sex for bow. A regular season buck and then you get an extra if you hunt muzzleloader and that's antler less

I dont think theres any circumstance where you can kill a third buck in NY, with antlers over 3". There might be something about Long Island thats different?

I believe 2 is the correct anwser...i looked over my tags and you get the regular season buck...bow muzzle either....bow muzzle doe.... then dmp

I would recommend that nobody takes anyone else's word for it- read the regs yourself. I know for most of the state you can take one buck in the early Archery and then one during the regular (gun) season, which can also be used in the late archery/ML season. Some WMUs are slightly different, so read the regs!

No. Could be a buck with horns less than 3". 2" spikes or beams snapped at less than 3"
