Hunting at sunrise

Are we allowed to get into the woods to our stands before sunrise?

Absolutely. Loaded weapon too. Just don't pull trigger til legal shooting time.

Yes you are..... and you can utilise a small light to see your trail only...

You can get into the woods as early as you want. Just can't legally shoot until sunrise.

I've heard of guys who slept in their hunting blinds to avoid scaring deer away in the pre-dawn darkness the next morning.

One of the beauties about hunting is seeing and hearing the woods wake up that first hour of sunrise!

Sunrise will be at 7:10 for me in Geneseo Saturday .

I would Pygmy...but the amount of shots we will be hearing from 6:10 on ...will drown you out...but I hope you have shots at 7:06...the best of luck to you this season stay safe...

Pygmy ---- No big deal but the differences are in 3 minute increments . Then again Accuweather shows 7:10 am but the book (page 80) shows 6:54 plus 15 minutes = 7:09 am . I'll go with the regulations book time ..........

You can shoot a coyote, fox, etc before sunrise, just not a deer.
