Woodjr55
I'm looking to pick up a semi auto in the near future. Mostly going to be used for small game hunting and turkey hunting. I'm looking for suggestions on a decent gun but one that won't break the bank. Looking to spend between 700-800 and would only needs it to be between 2 3/4 to 3 in If anyone has a used one they are trying to get rid of let me know as well. turkeyfeathers
How about a used Remington 1100 ? Check your local gun shops or Gunbroker.com perhaps Sorry about the underscore, If I'm not posting pics sideways it's always something. Mossberg 500 or it maybe the 835 may be what your looking for too.
Lawdwaz
I'd look for a second hand Benelli Montefeltro. 26" barrel and wood stock! Great guns.......
Pygmy
I have NO personal experience with them, but the son of one of my hunting buddies bought a Stoeger semi auto a couple of years ago and is very impressed with it.. Aside from that, I am a huge fan of Rem 1100s, and the Beretta and Benelli semis are very highly rated..

diplomat019
For your budget you can get a new shotgun. I bought a beretta a300 a couple years ago and i am very pleased with it.

whauburger
Not sure where you are located but I have a NIB Beretta A300 outlander in max 5 camo I would sell. Shoot me a message if you are interested.
mlammerhirt
I have the stoeger m2000..nice gun for the price but has difficulty cycling different loads...I am sure if I shot it on a regular basis a good cleaning or different choice of loads may have fixed that. ants
I would look into the Remington Versa Max. The standard Sportsman model goes for around 8-900. I talked with I guy who worked at Remington. He knew about every pin and spring in the gun. The thing is very well built and is designed to be extremely corrosion resistant

Slight drizzle and now it's surface coated with rust. I walk near water or it hears me take a shower and it rusts.

chas0218
When looking at the 1100 make sure the receiver is chambered to handle 3" my father has one in 2 3/4" and another is 3". I think it needs to say magnum. You may think you will only shoot 2 3/4" but almost all sabot slugs, turkey loads, goose loads are all 3". raymerlo
You can't beat the older remington 1100's or the 11/87,also look at the beretta semi autos,I have seen some real clean and underused one's at reasonable prices seasons over shop around, semi's are softer shooting than the pumps or over and unders
Tacti_Steve
A used Browning Maxus http://www.browning.com/products/firearms/shotguns/maxus-shotguns.html
TreeGuy
Remington is coming out with a v3. Same gas design as versamax but only 3", not 3 1/2". It is the guts of a vmax and should cycle anything you put in it. Msrp in your budget. Look for it soon on the shelf
