liver sausage on rye with Webers mustard and a slice of purple onion goes in hunting backpack

egg salad always goes hunting with me too.

Growing up 4 out of 5 days a week I used to eat liver sausage on white bread for breakfast before I went to school..mom didn't care what I ate...as long as I ate. I believe she always bought it from Redlinski's at the Broadway Market.

My mother used to make us fried spam sandwiches. Had a friend over after school and he said "I aint eatin that stuff". Years later on a camping/hunting trip,I made a big pot of cubed spam, potatoes and onion soup mix. After he wolfed down the first bowl and was halfway through the second, I asked him how do ya like spam now! Not bad was the reply. .....

Few things that will be around long after mans time on earth has expired....

 Cockroaches... Twinkies... coyotes... and SPAMl!

I used to work with a Mexican guy that brought in some BB-Q Spam burritos to share for lunch one May 5'th.

They were surprisingly delicious considering I suspected they were leftovers from the year before, lol! :nyam:

That may be preferable to what it's actually made of...Brother in-law trained as a butcher and would never eat hot dogs...they were always made at the end of the day and contained the saw scrapings and other things from a whole days worth of cutting...at least that's what he told us. So I picture meat "mush" that's been hanging around  not refrigerated for 8hrs...

Oh well..... hasn't stopped my enjoying a Zweigles natural casing hot dog ;)

I had some "country ham" last September in North Carolina, and it was OBNOXIOUSLY salty, and I like salt !

I've made country hams before, almost the same process as making prosciutto. Most people rinse country hams off well before cooking and cook in some sort of liquid to remove some of the salt.
