Wife saw a robin a few days ago. Brother saw a grackle . Bear that was hit was out moving.Neighbors dafadils wanted to bloom awhile back. Here's to hoping ...

They are early this year, and I am pumped. Last year we had some stay over and hatch chicks out back. This year I hope they repeat, I love sitting on my porch and listening/watching them do their dance.

Seen a flock of Canadian robins the other day. They were all singing " Oh Canada........................."

Last weekend we saw hundreds of Canadian Geese sitting on the shore of the Mohawk River near the Fonda/Fultonville Bridge. They never migrated.

I haven't seen a Robin yet.

This has been the screwiest Fall/Winter I can remember in my years 44 of existence.

One of the guys with whom I have coffee most mornings told me today that he has had several bluebirds checking out his nest boxes..

 

That means I need to get up to the property and clean out my appx 2 dozen  bluebird houses and evict the white footed mice that have been spending the winter in them.

  No robins yet, but did have a tom strutting at the bird feeder this morning!

Been seeing Bluebirds for better part of two weeks. I'm waiting arrival of the Red Wing Blackbirds males to return. Usually around the 20th of March here, Sure sign Spring is near.

 

Neighbor saw Turkey Vultures in the swamp. He's near sighted though, LOL.

There's a bunch of turkey vultures that hang out locally. Like 30 birds all the time. At our towns roadkill dump. They maybe too fat to fly too far

You got a good bingo . Every time I drive by they are there. Couldn't figure out why for years until my buddy who works for the town told me they dump all the roadkill there.

Red wing blackbird males are back. Morning doves have returned. Now all we need is killdeers and Spring is here,

   Had 2 toms strutting this Am. We have 14 birds total, 2 toms, 4 bearded hens, 1 with a leg band & the rest hens.  Two days ago we had 5 deer, the 14 turkeys, & about 100 red wing blk. birds & a couple cardinals in the yard. My sister was here at the time & said it's like a zoo around here.  Still on robins!

Heard my first Spring Woodcock this morning in back of the house! Two nights ago nothing, I knew they would be in very soon.

 

Also saw Blue birds and Red winged blackbirds.

Its about 64 out and sunny!! Im seeing a lot of Robins too.

The red wing blackbirds were singing above my sugar house this morning.  First time boiling in my shirt sleeves.
