Jaeger
That is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell all! What model did you get? What wood did you choose? I see you got the antler take-down knobs. I'm writing this before reading the other responses it's soooo cool. I am thinking of test driving a KB model and a PSR recurve. Blackwidow has a great facility, was there at the Asbell clinic. Congratulations!! Many, many happy years with it! And yes, oh yes! The deer should be very, very afraid! So silent and deadly!
SteveB
Beautiful bow Moog. If I wasn't married to my DAS original hunter, I'd have one. Are you running the BW D97 string?
moog5050
Steve, I owned a DAS, in fact killed my first trad bow deer with it. They are nice and very adjustable. I just like wood. I have a couple of BWs and run the D97 string on them. They shoot quiet and solid so no reason to change. Jaeger, its a PCHXS 58" and 50/28 with standard grip and 3 under tiller. Woods are BW ebony and gaboon ebony. I bet is was cool seeing their facility. Roger and Toby are great to work with. They really try to make the customer happy.
dbHunterNY
always wondered what would be better 3 to 4 fingers under.... or 3 under and 1 on top. I shoot 3 under and 1 up. left eye/right hand dominant. don't gap or aim with any part of the bow. pull up, as if the bow isn't even there, and shoot. every distance is like that. like throwing a baseball is the only way to describe it. problem is it's easy to get out of practice as I don't shoot it during the off season shooting a compound. takes some shooting well before hand to get back to where I left off the season before. I still have a Bear SuperKodiak to setup new from Bear factory. my old one freakishly delaminated. I think I might switch to just 3 under and see how it works. Lawdwaz
How's it shooting?
moog5050
How's it shooting? No complaints whatsoever Law. I plan to use this bow exclusively next season. Looking forward to it. I pulled out the Kodiak mag I hunted with last year and shot a few shots. Now I know why they say it stacks over 28". Never noticed it before but after shooting this BW, it is a huge difference. The BW is much smoother.
Bowguy 1
If you think that Widow is smooth, I find my Bighorn much smoother though slower. Ever shoot one?
moog5050
Never shot a bighorn - I promised myself when ordering this BW that I was done with buying new bows. So please no temptation. lol

Bowguy 1
Never shot a bighorn - I promised myself when ordering this BW that I was done with buying new bows. So please no temptation. lolBighorn was owned by Fred Asbell, last I knew he was somehow affiliated w Black Widow. The Bighorn is prob one of the nicer bows I've shot. It's old, but I still use it. My widow is only from 04 n shoots much harder but isn't quite as easy on my shoulders. Another bow I really liked was Schafers silvertips. Had one I never should have sold. Another on order, was gonna be done up real nice. Got divorced told him to hold the bow production just a bit n than he got killed skiing. His bows were right in the middle to me. You're stil alive, you got one more in ya! One cool thing bout my widow is instead of my and on the bow it has my daughters. Bow means a lot, first month I owned it my older daughter who was 4 at the time would come home every day, run into my shop n ask me if I shot a deer w her bow. First day I used it when I was almost to stand a group of does came by. I shot one. My daughter asked where the horns were! A few days later I was fleshing bears when I realized I could do a quick 45 min hunt if I husted. I grabbed the bow, bear grease n all on me. (Yes not best technique). I climbed tree, it was I think 4:23 or something. Looked up a small 6 point was going by. I shot the deer, watched em run into a power line n drop. Clock showed same time. Total time w the bow was minutes n 2 deer in freezer. Plenty of luck but I'll take it.
Lawdwaz
If you think that Widow is smooth, I find my Bighorn much smoother though slower. Ever shoot one? I had a couple of Fred's Bighorn Bows. Both were takedown models, a 64" and a 60"............wonderful bows! Also had a Robertson, Kohanna and a couple/three Great Northern bows when Rick & Jerry were together. We used to hit all the traditional get togethers back in the late 80's and 90's. Michigan Longbow festival, NYB, Denton Hill etc.......... Great times!
