Ok, since I can't help myself from buying stuff...So far it sounds like I need to replace my grunt tube with a chambered grunt tube and maybe replace my rattle bag with something else since I have yet to have it work for me and other people seem to have great luck with rattling antlers. I also need to pick up some sort of wind checker to make sure my new Ozonics is pointed in the right direction. Keep the idea's coming guys...

You have scoutlook, it tells wind direction for you so does just being in the area but scoutlook pans ahead. Pretty cool app. Hear me out, it's great to wanna buy stuff to help. Lots of people where I live/hunt are too set to change, maybe I am too but you should understand it's not real possible to buy a deer. You gotta hunt them n hopefully either you're figuring it out or already understand how n just want an edge.

I'm old school n been doing this a long time. I don't buy new stuff cause it's imo mostly marketing I did however see some decent answers. Bout a year ago a friend bout me a Glens deer handle to help drag em out. Pretty sure Id buy another if Iost that one. Pretty handy device

I got a knockoff one at Gander a few years ago for $4, I agree it's very handy

How is asking if anyone has something new they tried and liked equate to me wanting to buy a deer? I like trying new things. I have freely admitted that more than enough times on this forum. A lot of people have offered a lot of great advice on this thread that will help me and other forum members. You were not one of them. Its too bad because you probably have something to offer. Now hear me out, everyone that has spent a day in the stand knows you can't buy a deer.  You must have had some interest...You obviously read the thread...

I am editing this to say sorry. I was going to backtrack but decided that would be sneaky and people may have already read my post. You did offer some advice on the deer handle. Thanks for your contributing. I may pick one up....

Some like to judge others for not doing it their way. Luckily we live in the greatest nation and are born with many freedoms.

I have said it before and I'll say it again to me hunting is an individual sport. There are many styles and techniques and even goals. Every person who enters the woods has a goal in mind maybe its to see a deer or maybe it's kill a 150" deer and everything in between and everyone has a different method of accomplishing these goals.

I am not a tech guy I like doing things old school like wearing wool and hunting on the ground. But I just ordered a new scope with a red dot in the middle of it and some of my rifles have plastic stocks.

If products you buy even only help you think you are raising your chances and you can afford them go for it! If your ozonics has you hunting a stand you might not have hunted if you didn't have it because of an iffy wind and you kill a deer that product worked. It might not have covered your scent or it might have but it gave you confidence to be in the spot to accomplish your set goals and therefor it is worth your money!

Have fun and enjoy your season.

The other thing I really try not to forget is a range finder for bow hunting.

I'm a newbie so my opinion is almost meaningless but yeah the range finder is an essential gadget for an archer IMO! Learned that the hard way last year.

Bud I was by no means trying to sway you from your desires. Gadgets are fun n during the time we don't or can't hunt,  tinkering w them they can add enjoyment. Don't know how experienced you are or aren't. Some people think a magic scent, sight, etc etc will change their luck. Most times it won't. We gotta learn to hunt n from there things can help. All I was trying to say.  No apology needed I talk blunt, been misunderstood before. It's  hard to understand where someone is coming from in only words but I wasn't dising you or your post

I have been hunting for 27 years......I didn't take it seriously though until about 10 years ago....I have a lot to learn and spend all the time in the woods I can.

Third hand archery stabilizer straps for your climber. Best $20 you'll spend if you use a climbing tree stand

Trying out some for the first time this year!!!! Bought them at the sportsman's show in Hamburg this past March.

Just ordered those silent non-slip strips for the bottom section. Will report back on them later.

The last few years, the oldest trick in the book (actually The Book itself ) has helped me more than any new gadget ever has when it comes to gathering venison (and fish).   Get yourself a small Bible that fits in your pocket or pack.  My 51 year old eyes do better now, especially in poor light conditions, with a large print version.   There are also plenty of aps for that for the smart phone folks, or so I hear (I still use a flip-phone).     Happy hunting

A few years ago I purcased a Gerber Metolius E-Z open knife . It has a tiny ball on the end so you cant't puncture the guts . Make a small incision at the base of the chest , insert the E-Z open and cut down to the crotch like a zipper . I didn't necessarily need it , Just thought it was a cool knife and I use it a lot . Bought a 2nd one on Closeout at DICKs that I will be giving to one of my sons .

Does Viagra count ?? Oh yeah, we were talking about HUNTING...Sorry....<<blush>>...

My doctor asked me if I was using any new medication . I told him that I was taking 1/4 Viagra every evening .

He asked how much a 1/4 Viagra pill would help me . I told him just enough to keep me from peeing on my slippers !
