Where are the geese?

It's mid October and all I have around so far are the resident school yard geese. I have not seen a large migrating flock as of yet.

I'm in the Saratoga/Washington county area.

Any action anywhere in the state?

I'm not sure if they were migrating birds or local birds-  I was upstate this weekend, Otsego County and saw some birds flying- not a lot.  In the late mornings, there were birds in cut corn fields on my way home.  One field had a few hundred birds.

I just started seeing bigger flocks this weekend, all in cut corn but no where I have access to of course. I didn't see anything early season around home either. I think they were all on the river instead of green fields.

All of the birds in Clarence are local still, low flyers that know exactly where to feed in the parks and library

Had a few flocks pass overhead just before the big "hunters moon" rose three nights ago.

100+ honkers EASILY.... maybe even 200+ total but I wasn't counting as they came in waves.

They all landed in that new winter wheat field I asked about the other day.

Really made me wish I was a goose hunter at the moment!

What a beautiful picture Wooly...you've earned your " Angel wings " a very long time ago with the joy your talent brings.

3 of my sits I could have shot geese from my stand...We are in a fly way...for birds and planes...but they get up here on the hill and glide just over the tree tops...there are a lot of ponds around though. Plus cut corn and WW fields

Been seeing a fair amount in scottsville.monroe/livingston county line.hear and see em morning and night to go feed.not sure where they are dropping down but they are around

Haven't heard nearly as many as the years past. With the warmer temps I would imagine they will start migrating later.

Now that you mention it, I don't recall seeing or hearing any yet this year. My property is close to Lake Ontario and usually see and/or hear thousands by now.

I am in Saratoga county as well and I have not seen any at all. However they are coming. I know a guy in Plattsburgh and his hunting has been plentiful for them this year
