My wife took a new job and it's kicking her butt.  I've been having to look after our son since my wife has been bringing work home constantly and is now always tired.  So I haven't been able to hunt

Awesome hunt, I love it when it happens like it supposed to. I remember when my wife was pregnant with our daughter and due November I hunted something like 6 times and killed 3 deer. Sometimes it just works out that way. Congrats! 
How many with the bow is this? 


This is also actually my first with a bow.

Now that you mention it, both bases were slightly jagged. I never thought of it but maybe both were broken off.

Yea, not often do I see broken bucks in our area but did see one last year.

6pt on 12/1, but on 12/3 one side was definitely broken.

@Elmo are you keeping the skull plate? any pics of that wacky base?


Unfortunately, neck and head were given away and this morning was trash day. If I had realized there was more to this story at the time I might have kept the skull or at least taken some pictures.

Congrats in the deer Elmo! And what a great shot! You can tell it was a nice shot by the small bubbles in the blood. Love the story too. If you don't mind me asking, was this private or public ground?

Way to go Elmo!  sure shot was a little high like you said but good enough to get it done and that's a far poke for many bowhunters.  Crazy how sometimes things unfold that quick right?  Wait until next sit when you're waiting for the first deer to come in!  Congrats!

Good job guys, really glad you guys butchered it yourself, not sure of either one of yours experience in butchering but as far as I'm concerned, you really can't mess it up.
