crappyice
So the other day I wanted to ask how the ticks have been. I ask only because I have seen few on my clothes this season. I did treat with permetian(sp?) but I still usually pick up a few here or there. And then there's tonight! I change from my work clothes(I'm a teacher!) and find a tiny tick attached to my hip just below my waistline. The last time I was in the woods was briefly Monday morning and Sunday afternoon. Went to urgent care to have it removed and grab antibiotics (2 a day for 10 days). The doctor was trying to talk me out of taking the antibiotics, somewhat preaching the ticks are an overblown issue. F that! I insisted on the meds. Still curious about what you all are seeing regarding ticks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Never had one on me longer than 24 hours. I always shower immediately when I get home from woods. Did u shower after hunting?
crappyice
Hell yeah- I have s full routine including multiple mirrors-there's a pleasant image for ya! I am thinking it was in my car and found its way on me today. It wasn't engorged and real small. Doc removed it whole and was still crawling around the table.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hock3y24
I’ve had none this year, treated my clothes for the first time. Doe I shot only had a few that I could see.

Taylormike
Terrible summer for them. My Dog had a bunch, I did and my kids. We live in the country but I have well maintained yard, we pick them up in the short grass. However, the doe i shot last week behind my house had none visible. Be cautious, they're around this year. eagle rider
It was a bad winter for a frost kill last year. They are hell this year. One of the guys at my job got Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and both my nephew and niece have Lyme all this year.

Steve D
Up until this week we haven't had them. I found two on the dog this week. One day one and three days another. She has been on preventative and has still got them. Must be they are moving in and becoming more populated. Haven't found any one me yet and all my clothes are sprayed but I am sure it is only a matter of time
Jeremy K
I had too many to count fall on me Saturday when it was super hot out . I believe most of them were wood ticks and not deer ticks . I saw one crawling up the tree that was a deer tick ,maroon body with the white stripe around the outside.

But got better quickly after the antibiotics. Never found a tick on me, and my dr told me the 24 -36 hours is BS. Said if they get to your blood you could be infected. I had a bullseye rash behind my knee, terrible headaches and fever for a weekend, luckily i caught it early. A friend of mine also got it and never found a tick. Dr kept checking him for other things and he finally insisted on a test for Lyme which was positive. He got so bad with aches and had bells palsey from it for a few days. havent seen as many this year as last year, but i sure check all the time. Dr also said couldve gotten bit from the dog going outside, mowing , taking a walk.......etc. couldve had one bite anytime.
turkeyfeathers
crappyice, curious to "how much" you sprayed down your garments with permithrin One bottle properly used only is supposed to cover about 4-5 garments I believe. I used a smaller bottle entirely on daughters fleece, pants (2) and a sweatshirt. Surprised the dr said no to antibiotics. Good for you insisting on taking them. Even though very few reported cases in Erie county wife (vet) put our dog on meds to be safe. I could easily bring one home from Wyoming county where I hunt. He just couldn't fight off the effects any longer and his kidneys ended up failing. Long drawn out process sad to experience.
