Bacon grease candle

Dad made a candle out of bacon grease today, we will use it up at camp.  Figured I would share this, if anyone finds it to be a fun idea.

Great idea!  Even when I'm not having bacon, it will smell like I'm having bacon!!!

Hmm how did you filter the grease?

Would be pretty effective as a bear attractant

I am sure it will smell great but I think the bacon grease itself can catch on fire and will burn and you might have a problem, give it a test run outdoors to make sure it is safe.

I think he warmed it, and strained it through a metal screen strainer.

Dad said he saw it on stranded facebook page of some sort.  I guess it had a full article,  apparently it is safe as any candle, or even lamp oil.  Thanks for the concern.

By the way, I wasn't blowing off your post  I too thought it was odd, and was concerning.  He seemed confident it was no big deal.  Honestly, we both are not thr types to leave any candles unattended, even if we go outside for 15-20 mimutes, I blow them out.  We shall see how it goes.

No pets at all.  Probably have a bear break in though haha
