One month of antler growth...

Recommended Posts

Last year I had a beautiful 3.5 yr old 12 pt on cam. I had my fingers crossed that he would survive gun season as he made a huge jump from the previous year. Luckily for him, a buddy of mine that hunts the neighboring property actually passed him up on the opening weekend of rifle season as he chased a doe all around for half an hour. We had no other sightings of him for over a month until he surprisingly showed up on one of my cameras a week after late muzzleloader ended. He had several broken tines and his let ear was split up the middle, but he was alive and well!!!

In early June I captured two pics of a nice looking buck with a split ear...it was him no doubt about it!!! Date is wrong on the pic should read 6/06/18).

Finally, he showed back up with a very familiar buddy on 7/6!!! He appears to be working on being a 12 already with about another month to go. He added a lot last year in mid-late July.

As a four year old, he is going to be a stud!!!  Beautiful buck!  Hope you lay hands on him this season!

Yesterday,I actually laid eyes on one of our best bucks from last year. The split ears were the give away!

He's 6 years old...hasn't changed much from 4.5. He looks unbelievable in person!!!

Confused.  Thought you said he was 3.5 last year.  Regardless, a beauty for sure.

- you must mean the tall one.  Never mind

Yeah, the tall one.

Here's a cool sequence of him tending a post season doe in late december 2016...no summer velvet pics of him that year.

2017 version. I got a few sweet velvet pics but only one good hardhorn shot towards the end of rifle season but I accidentally deleted it....no post season pics but I did see him a couple times still packing in early Feb.
