Dmp reminder by end of August

Friendly heads up   Come September 1 if you haven’t applied for first round dmps your high - medium chances go way down and next available is November 1. So get em now boys n girls. You can now continue on your regularly scheduled program. Wait !!! That maybe end of September lol.  Somebody correct me please !

Never heard this. Although many guys seem to have a rhyme or reason as to when they get theirs.  I just pick them up before the Oct 1 deadline.

The odds are the same based on numbers from previous years through Oct 1.  Then leftovers are available on a first come first served for designated areas Nov 1.

My gut said the end of September, but I also was not sure (thanks for straightening us out RobH&F).  For that reason, I picked up (5) deer tags at Walmart last night: Reg season buck, bow/ML either/or, bow/ML antlerless, and (2) 9F DMP's.  That cost me $ 72, including turkey tags. I will get a couple more 9F DMP's  on Nov 1.   That also looks like about the date that our current supply of venison will be exhausted.  I hope I can fill one of those bow/ML tags up in the northern zone, with my crossbow or ML. before then.   

We will have plenty of meat for a year, if I end up with (4) average size deer from those (7) tags.  I only filled two last year, but one was a 2X, and I had a left-over vacuum sealed from the year prior, giving us just enough to last until Nov 1 or so.

Just went to the DEC web site you have till 10/1 to get your dmp's then if there are any left overs they will be made available on 11/1. your odds of getting a DMP are same weather you apply on the 1^st or last day

Also a reminder...... if you get fishing and hunting at the same time fishing is no longer good until sept 30 - it is year to date.  I always get my hunting license in early Aug cause my fishing license expires then as well.

I buy my fishing when I buy my hunting but my fishing always runs from 10/1-9/30.  They can sell you the new fishing with the start date of when your old one expires.  Heading out for the high seas in a few minutes to bag a screamer or 2.
