Name that Rub

Hi All,

Looking for some assistance from you more seasoned hunters on this board. I came across this "rub" a few weeks ago in 5C. I was in a swamp/lowland area so I initially thought  a bear was the culprit, the gouges in the tree were deep and look like three claws had raked across the tree trunk. On closer inspection, there were multiple rubs on a line of trees. Does that rule out a bear? It's difficult to tell from the pictures, but the rubs go up to 6 feet high, whi ch must be from the tallest deer I'd ever seen or maybe a moose. Thoughts?

They don't have front teeth on top. 

Sometimes you will see it stripped up 10' or so .. 1st time I came across this in a local swamp I really wondered until doing some research..lol

Those small soft maple trees seem to be one of the moose favorites.

Definitely bark stripping ..deer or moose seen rabbit damage when snow is piled up high as well

So it looks like I have a stand location. Now I just need a Moose tag
