Stop it completely? No. Will it help curb the flow a bit? Yes. This is another issue thats simply not going to be an easy fix, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt put the very basic measures in place to begin to do what needs to be done.

Everyone was for a wall until somehow it became not PC, and then they changed their tunes to try and pander to a different segment of voters.

Now, this thread is going where it belongs, to the politics section.

chef, compared to the money the US has given away to countries that hate us by past administrations, it really is pocket change.

Lets build the Damn wall even Reagan was pushing for border wall.How much do you think oil/gas would be if we had refineries in this country 8-12 dollars a gallon this whole money thing is crazy.Only part of the government is closed/shut down I say shut the country down and find out who should be here and those that shouldn't need to leave.

Inflation because of capitalism is how our country is supposed to work! Inflation because of all the Government mandates placed on business is called socialism. I would be happy as a clam washing dishes in a restaurant if it paid enough. I would also happily pay more for my meal.

5.7 billion is 60% of what illegals cost New York State alone in one year. That is a sickening and staggering number. So I am 100% all in for the wall. Even if it only slows the problem. Although, everything I have read shows it will more than slow the problem. I understand that it won't stop 100%. Where there is a will there is a way. This wall needs to include state of the are detection (both above and below ground) so we can make better use of our border agents. 

It was always my understanding that the wall was going to be paid for using the money we provide Mexico. (Mexico pays for the wall) I don't think anyone ever thought Mexico was going to cut us a check to build the wall. 
 

I am glad the government is shut down. I hope it stays shut down until Trump gets his funding. The government isn't shut down because of Trump, it is shut down because Pelosi and Schumer are now against what they were once for. 

Why are Pelosi and Schumer against what they were once for?  Because the Democrats used to run on being for the middle class. The working mans party fighting against the evil Republicans that were only for the rich people and corporations and once they were in office went in a different direction that if you paid attention too did nothing to help the middle class unless you were in a union. Now they have gotten to a point in this country where they no longer have to run on that platform. Now they openly run on a socialist platform where everyone, including illegals are entitled to certain wages, healthcare, standard of living etc. and are receiving a staggering number of votes running on this platform. Once they get enough people to buy into this platform where there is nobody to stand in their way, it will be the end of the United States. Thank god right now we have Trump standing in the way!

If  I was trump  I would make a  deal like this with the dems kids brought over before 2018  can stay but not vote .

And pass a law that says nobody else can get citizenship unless they go back and do it the right way from now on . No more amnesty .

Only temporary work Visa's. 

And  no more anchor babies. 

For the wall plus give the dems a few bucks for there favorite wasteful spending program of there choice .

And pass a Federal mandatory voter Id law .

Kinda of obvious most of the illegals are just walking across that border how do I know well most are from Mexico or bordering countrys of Mexico. 

When is  the last time you saw a  pack of Mexicans  at a major airport ?  

You don't so how are they getting here ?  

Besides the worst ones the criminals  will definitely try and cross over by walking then go to a airport , 

And those are  the ones you really want to try and stop the most .

I recall early in Obama's presidency many billions were allocated for his stimulus program touting all of the "shovel ready" jobs he had ready to go.

Very few of those jobs materialized, yet the money was spent.  How is it nobody is asking where all those billions went?  That program spent far more than the 5 or 6 billion Trump wants to build more of the wall and we got NOTHING for the money Obama was given.

It's politics.  The left will oppose everything Trump wants to do, no matter how important it is to America's citizens and future.

The Left is the biggest danger to America today.  Anyone who doesn't see that is swallowing the propaganda and refusing to think for themselves.

If I recall correctly, that wasn't billions....It was a Trillion dollar stimulus package and you are right. Who knows where that money went. But then again, whats a trillion dollars among friends.

While they  already are investigating the president and all his friends I don't see why they just don't start investigating the left and all their friends because the things coming out of their mouths lately seemed like things that could only be coming from foreign countries enemies of ours trying to take down our country from within. 

Left against border security is just the latest  of a bunch of things they have been promoting that just seem like its garbage coming from a foreign country to try and take down our country .

I hate to say it, but when the left is in power, they are way better than the right at getting anything done. The Repubs fight among themselves until the clock runs out, like the last two years show. And don't knock me for that, I'm a registered Repub. Most of the accomplishments over the last two years have been from executive orders. Which will all be wiped out quickly by the next left President.

The Repubs wouldn't even be able to agree on what to investigate. Or those investigations would have started already.

Its because nobody wants to take responsibility for anything they pass if it goes wrong
