If you really want to know about CWD then take the time and learn about Wisconsin's bout with it. Kind of ground zero....it can happen here for sure.

You mean the bout that the so called specialist said they had to kill every walking breathing Whitetail in the state to stop the spread? Or the millions of dollars and 1000's of animals wiped out for nothing? Or maybe the fact that they said it would decimate the herd yet a couple years after killing 1000's the herd repopulated itself to now have more animals then ever before yet still have a 40% positive herd? How could a herd grow 100's of 1000's of deer WITH the disease that they said would wipe them out? Maybe some should not believe everything they read and start living and watching what's going on in the real world! The state of Wisconsin no longer even tests for CWD per say!

This doesnt even sould like cwd by descriptions I've read about it, maybe a brain worm or encephalitis...

Yes this Ny case could be as simple as an Antler Infection. Bucks cut their velvet and flies lay eggs. Maggots invade the velvet and feast on the blood as they push Infection thru the bucks body. Will be interesting if it does come back positive but it's highly doubtful.

I would agree with you I highly doubt cwd.. buck looked to be in good shape physically..no "wasting " as is part of the name cwd. Again scare tactics and an agenda being pushed..

I agree. Which agenda? To end hunting, or to end deer farming? Or both?

In reality both, make people afraid to eat wild.game, blame a deer farm for a disease that came.from the wild and.has been spreading for.decades.

how often do you hear of mad cow disease anymore. It has not been eradicated nor has it gone away.. it's just non-news apparently.

You are right no recent testing more of a volunteer thing. As for the article it is good information to learn about the disease. You have a biased opinion because of the business you are in. I get it,  people should read about it so they know what to look for.

Not sure why you would think I have a biased opinion as it does not effect me? My opinion is again just the pure facts. You see that's one of the biggest problems in today's world, They only want you to read what they want you to know. 3/4 of the crap you read about CWD is just that...Unproven Crap.

Im not involved with it like that. I would say they do more than 50 hunts a season though, just based on what they have said in the past. Its not a huge ranch though, and 50 hunts a year would be signifacant for their operation.

I had a fallow buck hang around for a good ten minutes on thanksgiving years ago. Escaped from a pen across the road a couple years prior. I had pics and video but that was my Blackberry era lol
