Snakes climbing trees, huge unidentifiable mushrooms.....more signs of the apocalypse?   That snake would've weirded me out and I might have burnt down the forest!  Lol

The snake is VERY cool....I can count the number of blacksnakes I have seen on one hand, but they are very impressive creatures...

The snake looks like a Halloween decoration that some  one put up.

I actually seen another snake, black and green and it was a fast little sucker. 

That black one was just going up the tree and I drove past it and just had to back up and check it out

This explains how those garter snakes ended up in my eavestrough.

Nice looking Bondarzewia berkeleyi ( Berkeley's Polypore).
They are edible, but I've never tried them because I dont find many good looking ones.
The outer margins are said to be tender enough to eat, but the inner core gets very tough with age. The same can be said for chicken of the woods.
