Wife & I went riding at aoaa and saved a box turtle

3rd time riding the  atv’s there , such a great place to ride. We’re buzzing  down a trail and and I see this little guy in the middle. Glad I missed him, we gave him a helping hand out of harms way.

i found like 6 last year on my property, wasnt sure what type of turtle it was they were all in damp fields

I had to look it up, very common in north east from what it said.

Cool pics, looks like a fun place to ride! I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, we used to catch these guys all the time as kids while playing in the woods of Monroeville PA.

I know I thought the same,  common ? I’ve never seen one also till this one.

They live their whole lives in a small.area ,if moved they will wander aimlessly till they die. Never saw one in wild and I've seen alot of "rare " creatures

Interesting read thanks, I put him down In the direction he was heading and I could hear the frogs in the bog he was heading to.

Same, I'm always actively looking for them and have found maybe two my whole life. And you know when I was born!

I found one down in Georgia once....cool critter, but had a bit of an attitude! Never found one in NY though.
