Working from home , just in a better state

I said this from the minute businesses said they’d keep folks working from home , ok I pick a home in a better state . Didn’t have to be a rocket surgeon to figure out that .

Folks I bought my house/farm from in 2004 moved to TN to retire.  I have spoken to them a couple times and the love TN  they are in burbs of Nashville

Deer hunting is pretty good in Tenn. many of our freinds and relatives have or are moving there ,

If I get the permanent WFH for a few days per week guarantee going forward, I’ll likely move over the border into CT for more house and half the taxes. If they ever gave me permanent Fulltime WFH, I’d likely spend December - April in the Scottsdale area each year

Nice Area. I'm in Sevier County.  Moved out of NY in 2010 and haven't looked back. Hunted up N East and love it.

What about when your daughter becomes school aged? Sept- Nov in Ny...Dec-April in Arizona and then back to NY to finish the year? That's alot of hopping around for a kid.

Gotta say, TN holds a special place in my heart. I've also always loved KY. I grew up 4 hours from Nashville, and spent a lot of time in town when I was pursuing a music career. A lot of great people, and a beautiful city. A lot of the area surrounding town is gorgeous as well. I actually proposed to my wife on the Shelby St. walk bridge. She has an aunt and an uncle that like just outside of town, and I miss visiting them. 

I don't regret a minute that we moved out of Southern Illinois to upstate NY though. We are blessed with some great people, beautiful country, great little cities and towns, and easy access to NYC, Boston and Montreal. When people from back home come visit us, they can't believe how beautiful it is here. They have in mind that we are in NYC, just the same as people who find out I'm from Illinois picture being from Chicago. I can probably count on both hands the number of times I went to Chicago, but always get asked "how about Chicago, pretty rough huh?"

It would be a trial until she starts school. But Scottsdale area would be a strong year round possibility if i literally never had to go back to NYC for work.

I do love living where I do now but the politics and taxes ruin this state.

I guess moving from one high tax state that is run by a major city, to another, I didn't really feel any difference. I just know I'm pretty happy where I'm at, though there are times I consider possibly crossing the border to VT one of these days

I have friends in Henry County that I've visited a few times.  The area seemed nice but it was hotter than two mice screwing in a wool sock.

After we retire, and the grandsons are off to college or working. We have been thinking of selling out, to go to western NC, up in the mountains. Spent a lot of time there in my younger days. Hunting and fishing is superb, and there is green grass in March. Along with a little snow even, during the winter. And not too hot during summer, like it is along the coast.

Low taxes. No stupid gun laws in NC. Though I will miss the beauty of NY, and some great friends.

I've heard the mountains in Tennessee are about the same. Get 4 seasons, but winter lasts about 4-6 weeks and any snow they get is gone the next day.  Liberal leftist running this state, jacking up the taxes makes leaving here very easy.
