Did you hear her crash? How log ago did you shoot?

rachunter
Nothing for me in the morning. Saw two fawns on the way out this evening. Looks like rain for the next three days. Depending on rain I’m heading to the park tomorrow. I had enough of this treestand hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Five Seasons
i hate to say this, and it's not a given... but that usually means high or brisket, usually the later in my experience

Could be high or low and hit brisket. Doesn't mean deer isn't dead though. Did you think it was a pass thru or not?

I can’t find blood anywhere Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I hit a buck high one time and no blood anywhere. Went back the next day and found a little blood 90 yards away in the woods. Spent 5 hours looking and found it in a crick wash. It might be a fatal shot but if no blood trail prob need to walk out and try in the morn. Sucks but prob the best idea. We have rain coming in here if you do too that complicates ot more. But look tomorrow up trails in the direction it went and grid search the area. And If no blood maybe you can get on it's footprint trail some to. Edited October 18, 2020 by Robhuntandfish

loworange88
This evening I went out with my 7 year old for some early muzzleloader action up in 6K. We got to our spot in a hedge row looking into a small hay lot, and there was already a deer feeding. We watched it for about 10 minutes and I asked my son if he wanted to wait for more deer, or shoot this one(we thought it was a doe). He said to shoot this one and was very excited about it. I lined up the shot and told my son to cover his ears. I shot abs after the smoke cleared the deer made its way to the wood line. My son was anxiously wanting to get over there to “get the deer”. We waited about 10 more minutes then walked over. My son found the deer laying just inside the wood line, turns out it was a button buck. I would have normally passed a button, but my son is super excited about this experience, and that’s what counts! Enjoy!
