Twice I have had deer go out of their way to run into my car. Both cases, I was stopped and had been stopped for a bit, and both cases they inflicted significant damage on the car. Who knows what goes through the mind of one of these out of control deer. The only thing that I am fairly sure of is that it is not suicide ...... lol. I'm sure that deer had no idea just how big a step that was turning out to be.

A big buck did exactly the same thing here in Gang Mills off the I 86 overpass this fall.. Fortunately, he did not injure anyone, because he bounced off the highway underneath where he jumped off. The buck did not survive.

A few years ago, a friend of mine who works at Polly-O Dairy in Campbell, was on his way to work before daylight one morning.

A buck ran down the road in front of him as he was crossing a bridge over the Cohocton River, and the deer jumped off the bridge in about the middle of the river. Never knew if it survived or not, but it had about a 30 foot drop and the water is only 2 or 3 feet deep under the bridge.

When I lived in Cloumbus Ohio, (1.5 million people) I was stopped a stop light one day and a deer almost jumped into the window of the car ahead of me.

It kicked itself loose and ran away into a parking lot of shopping mall. Crazy deer.
