I have a bushnell here that is back up ,glass is clear but can't speak on its durability

I like Nikon ProStaff scopes - have them on all my rifles. Great value at the $150-$200 price point.

OK, I have a slight issue :

 

ON my new CVA I need to get the blackhorn breech plug seated fully, and it came with a wrench.

 

Problem:  The frickin scope is in the way of using the wrench to crank it down.  Before I tried to McGuyver it, wanted to put it out there for one of you MZ old hands to educate me.

Watched a video, I know as soon as I have it seated down properly it should hand tighten, but it's not yet.  I cranked it as hard as I could by hand and the hammer will not draw back to the locked position.

Seems like a fairly easy fix...take the scope off. You have to resight it anyway, so it doesnt matter

#5 allen wrench fit it perfectly, solved.  And yeah that's where I was going with it next.

Followup question:

 

How do you guys load your tubes with the bh209?  Should I have a small funnel or something?  Or scoop some out?

Use a funnel or tubes you can buy. Just make sure the loads are the same amount

I carefully pour it from the measuring tube directly into the barrel. Haven’t lost a grain yet.

Dad came over late, but we got to shoot the new smokepoles a couple time.  Looks like mines about 10 inches low at 50, his was pretty close to 0 for iron sights.  Ran out of daylight but everything worked great.  Need to order some more of those Barnes 200 gr.

Mine is a regular bolt head so I carry a ratchet and socket

Unless you can find the blue tip bonded version of the TC shock wave im not a fan of the yellow . Basically a SST made by hornady for TC
