Cool yote. The article is wrong though, Western yotes do sometimes have different color coats. Ive seen videos of guys taking them out west.

I have never seen a color phased yote from out West. Do you still have the videos?

I agree. Looks way more like a domestic dog to me than a coyote. I bet this hunter had no clue that this was a coyote. He just wanted to kill something and found out after the fact that this was a coyote.

I'm afraid I'd feel the same. I've known some great dogs.. great pets, that looked way more like a coyote than the photo above...

timber wolf ???? I saw one that looked like that..... up here..... and it was pushin a doe and her fawn......I told an old timer / logger and he said it was probly a timber wolf..and he's see 's them all the time...supposedly they trap them down south and release them up here..... wonder where that dog was shot.......

I don't know how much coyote hunting you guys do on here, but there is usually a clear difference in body language between a coyote and a dog. I have yet to see a dog that behaved and showed body language like a coyote. Even wild dogs.

Good call-- you're right, I don't do straight up coyote hunting; I've only seen them when hiking/hunting for other critters. I admit that I haven't spent a lot of time watching them, usually all I get is a glimpse for a few minutes or less.

Well sure...... There is nothing about the appearance of that critter that would make me even think for a minute that it was a coyote.

So, what makes anyone think that that's not someone's dog? Sure looks like a dog to me. I didn't read about any DNA results ..... lol.
