Went out to the local pond this morning to try my luck fly fishing again. There where big fish jumping clean out of the water, but i couldn't hook one. They where eating little white flies the size of pepper flakes. The worm guys where crushing them.I couldn't take it anymore and grabbed my spinning rod and a Little Chloe[silver/blue] first cast i got a rainbow.I tried a few more flies then left.

Rigth in the middle of the picture is a Bald Eagle,There becoming quite common here on Long Island.

Pics?? Who is this folklore of a man named treeguy you speak of?

I've heard of him.

I do regret not taking a pic during the worst of it. Tciii was across the creek and I could barely see him. We kept talking to each other so we didn't get lost. He kept saying "on" and I would answer with "got em".... at least I think that was so we maintained each other's locations.

I also only took 1 photo. When I sent my tackle recovery specialist in to retreive my lucky bugger.

There were guys literally running around with cameras yesterday, turns out this bird was in the area and its pretty rare. We naturally assumed they were making a netflix documentary on the worlds greatest fly casters but that turned out to be a rumor

went hiking in to a pond to fish with a bunch of guys one time and one of them tells us all to get toghter to take a pic.  Then he says he wanted our last pic to be out there to show what happened just before this trip...

I have not, Mike, but I haven't fished the river much this year..However, if you check the NYDEC stocking schedule this year, it says that the 2 year olds they are stocking in 2021 are browns, but the yearlings are all rainbows...  I have only caught one rainbow from there in my life, and I figured that was either a stray from the hatchery or perhaps from a private stocking on private land from perhaps Castle Creek..

I fished a local stocked stream tonight, it was waist deep and moving so after just one fish on the euronymphing program I put a bugger on and raised three big browns. Didn't land any of them. My friend landed a few so we've got a fish fry for today

Did they stock last year?  I don't think they did around here. So maybe lots of 2 years to stock this year?.
Nice trouts and a fine day!

Last year they just dumped them all in one fell swoop, and wouldn't let bucket brigades carry them away from the bridges. From my understanding they emptied the hatcheries so they wouldn't have to man them. And the fishing was fantastic all summer long lol
