Wild Pigs - A Reminder For All A thought to remember, Marx said, "Remove one freedom per generation and soon you will have no freedom and no one would have noticed." There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime. In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?" The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free food. "When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. "They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. "The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity." The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America. The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time. One should always remember two truths: There is no such thing as a free lunch, and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself. If you see that all of this wonderful government "help" is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to share this with your friends. God help us all when the gate slams shut! Quote for today: "The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living."9 points

With the above warning about freedom, ask yourself why the government is giving out all sorts of freebies and then restricting freedom in various ways, the biggest restriction being 2nd Amendment rights. The party of the freebies, taxpayer funded of course, is also the party of gun control. It's much easier to slam the gate on freedom if nobody can defend themselves. Little by little the truth slips out. Why do they mistrust and fear the people if they aren't doing anything to make people want to revolt? Does owning a 30 round mag mean your arming yourself against the government, or is the government trying to make sure you can't fight? Once again the Democrats are pushing this bill. If you believe the Democrats are not the party of gun control, and everything evil that will come from it, you never will, until it's too late to do anything about it. http://thehill.com/regulation/231884-democrat-uses-capitol-shooting-threat-in-push-for-ammo-limits3 points

Interesting use of 'expertise' in pursuit of the public good: http://www.epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Files.View&FileStore_id=b90f742e-b797-4a82-a0a3-e6848467832a At least one of them is still in prison. Back-checking the accuracy made me sick to my stomach, so I stopped reading, but many of the currently proposed regulations are still based on the 'standards' put in place by these guys. I'd be willing to bet that most colleges have incorporated these 'standards' as part of their curricula as well. And so it continues. This is your government folks.2 points

Pure Wisdom. I would like to add we must question the government's excuses for their actions because you can easily see the lies they peddle.Like why was the student loan program pirated to the government in Obamacare? Why are the 90% of people who had insurance treated like convicts being ordered to prove we have the right kind of insurance to satisfy big brother then forced to pay double. That/s right, you see it/s not just your rates that went up about 50% but your deductibles went through the roof as did your co-pay. So when I say your rates all in doubled I am probably underestimating by a lot. Think about it, if only 10% were uninsured we could have solved this with a 1% increase and nobody would have complained. So you see it never was about the uninsured.2 points

So I had to drive from Binghamton to Syracuse this morning to take my Dad for a test at University Hospital. Preliminary results look good but will find out more in two weeks. So on the way home Dad is starving after fasting for 12 hours plus so he said to stop at Craker Barrel. I had never eaten at one so we stopped and got seated. Lots of trinkets and older signs and things decorate the store. These pictures were hanging by our table so I wanted to share them.1 point

I have big taxidermist a mile from my house. True-life. He has lots of guys doing work there. He does work for the Shockey's. I would never bring anything to him. The owner does great work. But he doesn't do work unless it African game or a famous person. I drive 45mins to fox studio since it's Kurt and his son doing the work. Kurt is one of the few guys that do great all round mounts. My guess would be to escape the sappy love bird crowds at the local Restaurants and the single depressives at the local bars. Plus away from any fumes from the city that may drift to the east. Fresh clean air on a long weekend, with the main squeeze away from everyone else at a cabin sounds like a nice reprieve from daily life.1 point

I said AR will not do anything for most hunters who want a trophy to fall in there lap. He said a one buck only would help. I said help what, he said get him a easy trophy. Easy LOL, I said, " Maybe if you got out of your tree stand and actually hunted you might have some chance at getting a real trophy." And that's when the fight started.1 point
