  1. Started working full time when I was 13. After 50 years I'm done. As of today I am retired. More fishing, hunting, and trapping. Hope to be more active here and other forums also. I wonder if I should tell the Wife?

  2. You bite your tongue! Chupacabra Vs. The Alamo was an incredible movie! I watched it on my flight to New Orleans year before last. Fantastic movie. You should also check out Lavalanchula it has Steve Guttenberg in it and they fight tarantulas that came out of a volcano. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

  6. I took a walk down to the creek to get some shots of some wild flowers today. Hiking along when a momma wood duck and her kids went scurrying across the water. The babies made it safe to the creek bank and hid underneath. Momma however put on the "lame duck act" and began splashing around trying to lure me downstream with her. Out of nowhere from behind me this hawk came ripping past my head and nailed her right in the deepest section of the pool! I had my short lens on so I had to make a quick change before I could do anything. I could hear all kinds of splashing going on but now I couldn't see over a mound of creek rocks. When I finally got situated and peaked over the rise, I saw momma duck swim under the creek bank on the other side and this hawk swimming for the other shore! Momma took a solid hit and there were feathers floating everywhere. She curled up in a hole and didn't come back out while I was there. Not sure if she made it or not. Mr. Hawk didn't stick around long once he dried out from his high speed plunge! Very cool to see such an attack so close!

  17. Watch Saturn Shine on Friday, No Equipment Required Astronomically speaking, Mars and Mercury dominated May. But now that it’s June, Saturn has a chance to shine. Our solar system’s “Lord of the Rings” will be at opposition starting the early morning hours of Friday, meaning it will align with Earth and the sun. This arrangement will provide amateur astronomers with one of their best opportunities this year to see the butterscotch beauty with the naked eye. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/03/science/saturn-opposition-rings-titan.html?_r=0

  20. Except for one model camera , I have had the best luck with Moultrie Game Cameras . I have three Moultrie I35 GameSpy cams . one has been out for 5years and still takes excellent pictures . Phade told us about the MOUltrie TRACE Premise cams and I now own 4 of those . I was able to buy them for $40 each . Great buy for the price . I did own a couple of Primos mini cams and neither of those worked very long and are in the junk pile . I had 3 Primos Truth cams and 2 of those are now trash . So , in my opinion , the Moultries are the best for low cost & efficiency but no doubt Phade will probably feel the Covert Black Flash are the best .

  22. Great shots and good ID alloutdoors. Hopefully that young bird will get a little smarter as it gets older. Sometimes hawks impact with balled feet, punching instead of impaling, in order to stun. In a situation like this - on the water - it would seem the safer course of action. Impaling the duck might have resulted in the hawk going under with the duck.

  33. Recon Force and Spec Ops IMO are more geared toward video use - Strike Force and Dark Ops more for pic use. Vids in the Strike Force are pretty good, but the vids from the Recon Force are close to setting the bar image quality wise. The pics from that cam, however, are well below the Strike Force's quality.

  34. Found a new spot for a possible tree stand location while out spring turkey hunting the last two weeks. Look's very promising, trail leads right to a creek crossing and the amount of tracks leading to it and through it were incredible. Got the goose bumps just pondering where to place my stand come fall!!! I know bow season is a long way off but already getting pumped!!! LOL.....

She had a day off I called ahead made appointment , drank some coffee and watched tv for idk and hour and a half while they swapped them out. This was late winter early spring of this year, I remembered because if I had boots I would have shed hunt behind the dealer...... Here's her '02 Civic, still going strong .

  48. Found this juvenielle crow today trying to figure out how to put some air under his wings. They nest high in the tall pines every spring, but this is the first time I've ever come across one at ground level. Apparently he bailed from the nest just a little too soon as he wasn't accumulating many frequent flyer miles. He's not the most exciting critter to ever step in front of the lens, but shooting "black" subjects in bright light has always been a challenge for me. .... and here's a couple random filler pics to get my 10 shots in.
