Seems most pump guns do that, take the good with the bad -

Use a come along and pull it in the direction you want it to fall. Best to call a tree surgeon, they are insured if too close to the house.

Almost 4 month update. The ribs have healed up but the humerus is still suffering from a delayed union. Still not 100% clear if eventually surgery will be needed to pin/plate the arm. Thats tbd after Christmas. Anyways have the greenlight to start PT for elbow and shoulder movements. Will be out using the caldwell fieldpod anytime my son or a friend are going out now. Sadly still need someone to help with gut and drag as left hand/arm has zero strength. -

Gutless method and packout ... Congrats on the buck -
Over the yrs I have come to realize that most scents work on deer 2.5yr or younger. Mature bucks and doe actually tend to avoid the area or always circle downwind to check it out thoroughly.

Congrats and will be great eating

Got lucky with spine shot, try and get them in the lungs, that way you dont spoil the backstrap meat

I hear you. Very tough to sit out but need to heal properly for future hunts. -
If you dont feel comfortable, avoid the tenderloins. https://springcreekoutdoors.com/blog/facts-about-deer-that-you-may-not-have-known/

There is nothing in the cavity to eat anyways..so no meat is ruined. Welcome and congrats.. you may want to avoid colorful language or will be banned.

The reason I got hooked with bow hunting is because of witnessing the sparring match with similar outcome as yours. Sure gets the blood pumping and I remember like it was this morning.

I posted this in a different thread, but messed up the 2021 season by falling from a ladder and breaking 3 ribs and left humerus in August. Still recovering from it as suffered from delayed union in the humerus fracture. -
You sir have many talents..
