  1. Make sure after you are done sighting in the scope that you shoot one arrow with the broadhead to make sure they are flying same. Usually one has to make a minor adjustment. Lastly shoot 20-25 arrows to break in the string like a regular bow. Good luck
  2. The playing of numbers by vendors sure makes it crazy https://www.centerpointarchery.com/product/amped-425-crossbow-with-power-draw
  3. Get a crank, thats what i opted for since my left arm is out of commission for another 6 weeks. I fully extended the stock and wedge it with my stomach and crank away. Ofcourse foot in the stirrup pushing down
  4. Play the wind and save your money. Swirling winds are related to topology or change in vegetation. Moving a stand 20yds makes the difference.
  5. Best of luck to Ben tomorrow. Its really picked up today. Had a nice 8pt come through as i watched not being able to do anything at 5pm..lol Ofcourse saturday onwards wont see a single deer
  6. Most new crossbows sold in NY stores even dont meet the requirements. Best bang for the buck is Sniper 370 and if you get the trigger mod done on it , just cant beat it. (pun intended)
  7. So the Patriot and Heat are same xbow - https://www.centerpointarchery.com/product/heat-425-crossbow-with-power-draw Equipped with a lightweight, compact Power DrawFor a 70% reduction in draw weight 425 foot-per-second speed and 160 foot-pounds of energy powerShoot with buck-stopping power, speed, and accuracy. 15.75” wide un-cocked or 12” ready to fireCompact enough to travel without slowing you down.
  8. Good luck but I dont think Wallyworld will give you a return on crossbow unless under 2 weeks. As for xbow requirements https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/68802.html Crossbow Specifications A legal crossbow consists of a bow and string, either compound or recurve, that launches a minimum 14-inch bolt or arrow, not including point, mounted upon a stock with a trigger that holds the string and limbs under tension until released. The trigger unit of such crossbow must have a working safety. Minimum limb width: 17 inches (outer tip of limbs, excluding wheels and cams, uncocked) Minimum peak draw weight: 100 pounds Maximum peak draw weight: 200 pounds. Minimum overall length: 24 inches from butt-stock to front of limbs.
  9. Its legal to be owned but cant hunt with it.. Crossbownation has the comparisons. I ended up buying the CP Sniper 370 that is NY legal

  11. My cell camera is getting a work out tonight. 20 minutes and 5 different bucks. All 1.5 to 2.5yr olds though.
  12. My prayers that you get the tag filled and still make the game It can happen
  13. I am ready..somewhat..lol Centerpoint 370 with the crank and bog deathgrip tripod. No spot n stalk as i would love to but more like sitting in a blind and hoping something goes by
  14. All my friends who went after 5pm in Monroe, Ontario & Orleans came back empty handed. NYS DEC system was down ...lol
  15. Awesome!!! Congrats Looks too big to be a 2.5yr old but maybe you are in a better Ag area
  16. Bringing this back up for those going out for the first time for the crossbow weekend. 3 months in and delayed healing. 6 more weeks needed to see if the body will do what is needed. If healing is stopped and they feel the callous is no longer forming than under the knife and the clock resets. So please all be careful, wear harness and tie in.
  17. Sportsmanwarehouse asks too
  18. Woot!! never say no to free ammo :) I truly appreciate your generosity
