    Scared?

That goes with my last sentence. Also not everyone sees deer as easily as others. I know a few properties where hunters say no deer are around and another hunter goes and pulls out a nice 8 pt and is never invited back, lol.

    Scared?

The other issue is location, I have hunted in a location only a few miles from where I saw over 100 deer between myself and another hunter and saw only 2 deer for the day. Real easy to say deer are everywhere when you have many in your area but not all areas are created equal. Also not everyone sees deer as easily as others.

    Scared?

I think its a combination of hunters like you described in the last sentence.
  4. Just another delusional Vegan, animal rights activist. As the diet gets worse these people go past left field into outer space!

    Scared?

No not scared. Less deer taken and that seems to be the way things are going. As the older generation gets out of hunting not as many are interested in taking up hunting.
  6. Very cool Storm, thanks for sharing, love old guns!
  7. Most information was learned in books other data from DVD's and hunting shows almost forgot U-Tube. That knowledge was very valuable in learning how to read and interpret sign but the real learning has always been boots to the ground and many days in the woods. Other knowledge is gained from other hunters sometimes with less experience than me. Most I ever learned was from tracking deer. I try to ask my self (If I was a deer what would I do? And why did they go that rout?). Food? Cover? Bedding? Scent checking doe beds or what? Love back tracking them. Learned my target buck was gone opening day this year and he scored 167 when he was taken last year. Talk about putting a dampener on my opening day and he was shot from my stand! Then my buddy does not understand why I do not want to put more stands up in this spot.
  8. Lever action is very reliable and pretty much any round will work. Best bet is to try a few and get one the feels right and is easy to shoulder and sight in. EX: No head movement needed to line up sights or scope and every time you shoulder it everything is lined up with no adjustments needed. This is why I love the model 94 in 44 mag it shoulders perfect and the sight is also perfect so the moment I pull up on a target I just need to aim.
  9. I have a Marlin in 30-30 and a Winchester model 94 in 44 Mag. Love them both but for all around I would go with a 35 if the weight does not bother you. For me the model 94 in 44 Mag is like a BB gun and is the perfect fit for tracking, stalking and up close hunting and long hikes, no sling needed.
  10. I will hunt until I can't, its in my DNA.
  11. Congrats! Hope you go many miles and have a smooth fun ride! Thanks for all you have done and will do!
  12. We tend to pass doe in the area with the largest number of big bucks, simply put they are the best bait!
  13. He needs more sheep! So he figured this was a good recruiting stage.
  14. What skills, she can wash the top and clean windows at the same time! Gifted!
  15. LMAO the dog is ok and that is just funny! My sister has 2 of them.
  16. Next time a Vegan says you should not eat meat ask them if meat eaters are bad people or just like to kill animals. What type of person is a meat eater? Then ask if the generations of family before them that never knew what a vegan was are in the same category as current meat eaters... What about your great grand father didn't he eat meat along with your entire family? Well yes but...
  17. Happy B-Day!!! Hope you have a great day!
  18. OMG Some of these are priceless, hope to see some good ones for this year! You had me rolling ApexerER, that was a good one!
