You can’t go wrong using a 100gr Muzzy or a 100gr Nap Thunder Head both are excellent heads. Remember we don’t have to shoot them you do. Find something you like and shoot well for you. And good luck

You can try the Genesee river south of the park for small mouths or south of Belmont for trout. There is also the Keeney swamp there are some nice large mouth’s there but you need a kayak or something.

Let’s not get are knickers in a knot over this. First of all, this is not the whole state its only certain WMU’s. So, if you don’t live or hunt in those WMU’s it won’t affect you at all. If you do hunt in one of those WMU’s you for the most part are hunting privet land. Not all but most will be on land with limited access. So, it will be up to you and or the land owner if hunting will take place on that land. Also, it’s not just guns that can be used you can use any legal hunting implement for that area. YOU ARE NOT BEING FORCED TO HUNT IN THAT SEASON YOU HAVE A CHOICE. My choice is I’m not going to hunt in it.

I live in 8G one of the wmu’s that will have a hunt. I have a place I can hunt in 8G. I think it’s more access problem than not wanting to kill deer. I don’t think more time is going to help if the access problem isn’t fixed.

I have a 444 marlin that I have had for years. Before they were sold to Remington and the quality of that rifle is very good. But after they were sold to Remington that quality went down. I would go with the henry over the marlin unless you can find a pre-Remington. Ruger now owns marlin lets hope there willing to do what it takes to make a good quality rifle.

I don’t know if I’m for the September hunt or not I live 8G. it’s more lack of access then not wanting to kill deer. The access problem needs to be fix. I don’t think more opportunity is the answer.

I’m not going the recommend a brand of bow to you. Because you’re the one that has to shoot it, not me or anyone else on this forum. What I will tell you is fine one you like that shoots good for you and don’t worry about what name is on the bow. As for arrows there’s 100 different arrows out there. The arrow does the work along with the broadhead the bow is only away to get them to the target. I will tell you what arrow I shoot and that is Gold Tips I’ve been using them for over 30 years. They work.

The deer scent I use the most is North country scents. But I’m going to try Wyoming County White Tails. Like anything else they seam to work under the right conditions.

I would have to disagree with the 243 not being able to go though the shoulder. I killed a deer at over 100yds with my 6mm though both shoulders using 100gr inter-loc. The bullet was nothing special. The deer just dropped where it stood. Remember dead is dead you can’t make them deader. With a kid it’s all about recoil and putting the shot in the kill zone.
