The reason I posted it in Bow Hunting as there is no plain Archery Forum . And ..... yes , it's a vertical cross bow . You can hear a bit of wind noise in the video so I guess the shooter had taken that into consideration .

Wildgame Deal for those around field and stream
fasteddie replied to phade's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
About the only thing I don't like about the WildGame Cams is how they are mounted (bungie cords) . I was able to buy some lock boxes at DICKs on a closeout to make them more secure . You need an assortment of different size bungie cords for various size trees or make an adjustable strap with "S" hooks to attach the camera to a tree . For me , the bungie cord bit is a serious design flaw . Maybe I am paranoid but I don't like to leave a Trail Camera out unless I can lock it up and I realize that isn't a full safe guard as anyone with a set of bolt cutters or saw can take the camera . -
YES .. dirty ammo . Bought American Eagle in place of the Remington crap and I believe the American Eagle is manufactured by Federal .

Happy Birthday Bubba !

I gave away a few boxes of Remington 22's a few years ago . It is the dirtiest ammo I have ever shot . I have no regrets on getting rid of it either !

Best Trail Camera Value
fasteddie replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
WCJ -- I have found that after the crops are harvested , the deer change their patterns . I could get pics all summer and once the beans , etc are harvested , the deer aren't there . -
I prefer Tree Stands when bow hunting for visibility but not for gun as the leaves are gone and the cover is gone . I prefer the blind when gun hunting as my 73 year old body can get out of the cold wind , snow , etc ..

Best Trail Camera Value
fasteddie replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Trail Camera Reviews and Info
I have ------ 2 Moultrie Game Spy I-35 cams ....excellent battery life . I have left one in the same spot for 2 years and the deer pose for it ..changed batteries a few times . 4 D batteries 3 Primos Truth Cam Blackout cameras ... nice pics except not much flash distance on lengthy shots ..6 c batteries 2 WildGame AXE2 cams . Bought lockout boxes for $10 on closeout . Uses 4 C batteries ...takes single pics 1 Cheap Wildgame S1.3X .... takes single pics but does night color pics 1 Moultrie D338S ...small camera ... can set user ID onb camera for it to be used and unlock ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3 older Stealth Cams that no longer work 1 Moultrie I-40 that no longer works 3 Wildview that don't work ( gave 2 away for decoys ) 1 Primos Truth Cam 40 Ultra that works and takes decent pics but date and time is screwed . Primos customer service said there is no fix for that problem . My son had the camera for severl months before putting the camera out and noticing the problem . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So , for the most part , I am satisfied with Moultrie , Primos and WildgGame . I would stay away from Stealth Cam and WildView . I was looking at a couple of the older cameras and they use the Compact Flash Cards .. Those cards are expensive . I havn't tried Bushnell or Covert .....yet and I have never tried Cuddeback cams . -
The reason it's expensive is because it is very difficult to put condoms on those bucks .

Big Leroy is looking forward to your stay ..........

No shots here during gun season . Wasn't seeing much of any deer on the Trail Cams during the gun season . Removed one of my stands in Geneseo today and saw 8 doe ( 4 in 2 different spots ) between 2 and 3 pm .

Would You Support a Blaze Orange Compromise?
fasteddie replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Deer Hunting
The OP's original post was ...... Would you support a blaze orange requirement if it allowed the extra 1/2 hour before sunrise & after sunset? Not would you want blaze orange to be mandatory . -
I bought one of those at DICKs on a closeout . It was originally over $100 but they had it for $49.97 . I had a $10 off coupon and they even reduced it more . I ended up paying something like $33 . My son bought some camera at GM but it wouldn't charge and he couldn't get it to work so he took it back . I picked up one of the WGI Action Cams that was left for $35 plus tax . They come with some neat mounting clips / brackets .

Check out the Wayne Times . They post the DUI , DWI , Thefts , etc with pictures . Some violators call the editor and plead with him not to put their picture in the paper . They even post "The Mug Of The Week" . The NY Outdoor News also posts articles on some violators . http://timesofwaynecounty.ny.ussrv07v.newsmemory.com/index.php

Would You Support a Blaze Orange Compromise?
fasteddie replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Deer Hunting
Okay ---- No , I would not support Mandatory Blaze Orange if the hunting hours were increased to earlier and later than they are now . I would not exchange one for the other . -
Would You Support a Blaze Orange Compromise?
fasteddie replied to wildcat junkie's topic in Deer Hunting
What would be mandated next ? Orange guns and bows . Yes , it's an exaggeration but it's not that far fetched . I still wear a Blaze orange vest and hat as well as my back tag holder is blaze orange but I don't think that blaze orange should be mandatory . What are "YOU'RE" ( ) thoughts ? -
Comparing legal shooting time to driving the speed limit
fasteddie replied to regulat0r's topic in General Hunting
Belo --- I interpreted your "so stupid" post as implying that I or anyone was stupid for obeying the law ......... which got my dander up -
Was in my chair blind at 6:30 this am . Sat there until 11 and never saw anything except squirrels . Left and came back to the blind by 12:30 . Nothing . There were tracks across the pasture lot from previous days so I expected to see something but ......No . I got my stuff packed up at 4:30 and headed for the car . Left the property around 5 pm . As I drove down Lima road I saw 4 deer in a large open field about 1 mile from where I was hunting . Saw another 4 within the next mile . If it hadn't been for the snow , I might not have seen them . I might go to Mendon tomorrow afternoon .

fasteddie replied to regulat0r's topic in General Hunting
I guess I shouldn't think anything less of your opinion . I'm not desperate enough to want to break the law . You want to be an outlaw ..... you are STUPID ! -
Congrats on your deer . Nice !
