  1. This seems to good to be true? I saw this add on facebook, I could use a new pair of lighter muck boots but I'm a little skeptical. Any one go through this site? https://www.outletsaleboots.shop/?fbclid=IwAR3WblpK3gj0orp8oCNco_DK7r74Dbh1q5o86hxWe-CzfhKQmAWwJWZaGZI
  2. I once knew a few flakes from EA!!
  3. Ha HA! great tat Tom! If I did a tattoo on my head it would have to be a tractor pulling a brush hog!
  4. Look through this thread there is a lot of posts regarding building an elevated box blind.
  5. I'm the last to see this again! Damn when will I learn?
  6. Happy Birthday Jay! Knock 1 down then go eat cake!
  7. Merry Christmas everyone!! Enjoy the time with family and friends.
  8. Let's put out a trail cam and see if we can get a pic!
  9. Yes, there is a lot of state land in that area. I've only been hunting there for a few years. Each spring we check out several different state lands looking for turkey.
  10. I don't know anything about Jersey Hill, but I hunt with a friend a few miles from there Gilles Hill State forest. His camp is on a dirt road surrounded by the SF. It's not bad where we are relatively flat but across the street drops off fast as you head towards CR16. During bow season we pretty much have to place to ourselves. Opening day of shotgun season has more hunters(as expected). If you like to duck hunt there is a swamp not far that holds some ducks, Keeney Swamp. Good Luck with the camp.
  11. Larry, I saw Lodge at BJ's yesterday, IIRC 12" cast iron pan was like $22.00? Does that sound right?
  12. Grampy, I absolutely love the snowman hunter décor!!
  13. That sounds like a tough season!! You should get the OnX hunt app for your phone and mark your stand locations, works great! Once you download the maps you'll not need internet to use in the woods as it uses your phones gps to locate you. jmho.
  14. Have a great Holiday Tom, I assume you're heading south for the winter? Thanks for the great read !!
  15. We've been getting our tree at Bird Haven near Warsaw for at least 25 years now. We pre tag a tree in October and cut it late Nov or early Dec. Weather permitting. They have a great selection and are good people. Every year we think this is the last real tree but I haven't seen too many fake trees that look this good. IMHO!
  16. Not live from the woods but yesterday I shot a buck. Story in the harvest thread.
  17. I scored yesterday at my friend's place in Chautauqua. Not my biggest, but this guy has a big body. I was doing a slow stalk to try and move something up the hill to my buddy and I caught this guy in his bed. He never saw me as he was distracted by a shot to the north, I caught him turn his head at the sound of the shot. He was bedded in some thick stuff so I didn't have anything but head to shoot at. I could only see 1 side of the rack and it looked like at least an 8 pt so I put it on the white spot on his throat and fired. He never got up, I probably ruined most of the neck roast. 67 yd shot with 30-06. Perfect weather for hanging so I probably won't cut him up until Wed? It's great not having to drag him the 3/4 mike back to the truck!
  18. I bought a pair of Red Wing Irish Setter 17" hunting boots, with a side zipper. were nice to get on and off and guaranteed to be 100% waterproof. NOT!! they leaked 1st time I wore them, sent them back, got a new pr and they are just as bad!! IiRC they were 150 plus shipping. this is a link to a similar pair.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/125000646143?hash=item1d1a9e7dff:g:-HIAAOSwJ3NhjxNq
  19. Here's a youtube video of our game from Sunday.
  20. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! Our team raised over $35,000 for cancer research! I personally reached my goal of raising over $2500. We couldn't have done it without the help of so many of you generous people here on this site! I feel so very blessed. Thanks to all who contributed! Tim Meyers
  21. Happy Birthday Greg! You picked a nice day to celebrate in the woods!! Good luck!
  22. Almost there, less than 2 weeks until we hit the ice!! I just wanted to put this out here 1 last time to try and get as many donations as possible for this very worthy cause. Friends we are almost there, on November 14 at 8am our team, The Thursday Night Cancer Crusaders, will start off the 11 Day Power Play Community Shift. 40 teams playing hockey for 11 days along side of the 40 players who are playing a hockey game to break the Guinness World Record for the longest ever hockey game! This is truly an incredible event, all while raising much needed funds for the fight against cancer. For those of you who have already donated THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, and for those who haven't WHY NOT!! Cancer touches each and every one of us in one way or another, I am grateful for this opportunity to do something to fight back and really need your support.
