I've shot a buck on opening day (Saturday) and killed a doe the next day (Sunday) from the same ladder stand !

Approximately one mile up the road from me in 4B there has already been 4 deer hit in the last two weeks on Rte. 144 / River Road ! I hope they are not all the ones we've been seeing in our back yard ! Three Does and One Buck !

I know the feeling Grampy ... in years past If I had a Doe tag I would usually fill it opening day of gun season and then kick back and be satisfied with one in the freezer ! This year is definitely a bonus year having put a Doe down with a compound bow ( my first) and a Buck down with a crossbow (my first) it makes me wonder about even going out opening day of gun season ! I've already told my hunting buddy that I would be just as happy to do nothing more on the gun opener than drive towards him ... all day ! Good Luck out there everybody !

I went to the Grand Opening of the new Field -n- Stream store in Latham NY and was compelled to buy a crossbow at the great sale price ! And yes it paid off nicely this year !

I'm working 4-12 this week and last night I had to come to a complete stop to avoid hitting a large Doe in the middle of my road , beeped the horn 3-4 times before she decided to stroll away ! I get home and there's a big buck in the backyard !
