  1. Wore my new rubber boots tonight for the first time this year. Only deer I saw walked down the trail I walked in on. Didn't bother him one bit.
  2. Sat for the last hour of daylight and had a small buck come out at 20 yards. Had to wait 10 minutes before I could get down cause he wouldn't leave!
  3. Only thing holding me back is work! Hopefully tomorrow night I can sneak out.
  4. I believe it's reflex. Not a good sign if you can't remember what you shoot for bow, pull, or draw length.
  5. Possibly Friday night, but definitely Saturday morning.
  6. I wouldn't say it gets easier. For me passing on the smaller bucks is self gratifying. Knowing that I had them in range and they were unaware, it's a good feeling. Yeah I could have killed them, I just take a mental photo and hope they make the same mistakes in a year or two.
  7. This first guy showed up on my camera for the first time all year. Nice looking 2 year old that should look pretty good next year. Also a few pics of the slob does that are running around, a coyote, and couple other young bucks.
  8. Nope. Be neat to see what that little sticker on his right beam turns into next year. Pretty good mass for a 2 year old.
  9. Nice buck. Looks like he broke his antler during velvet and it hardened like that. My buddy shot one really similar and that's what the taxidermist thought happened. Tough to tell on age, but I would say no older than 3. If you like him, take him. Score wise, wouldn't do much with that odd side. Maybe 100-105"

    Help!!

I hit my forearm while shooting too. I attribute it to the fact I have Popeye like forearms. Arm guard at BPS was under $10. Well worth it.
  11. I asked a girl I work with if her husband was going up to their camp for early archery and she said yes. So I said how's he shooting? Oh, he hasn't shot his bow this year so I don't know. I did bring it down stairs, dust it off, checked his arrows, and waxed his string for him last night though. He said he'll be fine. These are the kind of people that worry me.
  12. Met up with a good buddy today to discuss the upcoming hunting season. Just as we were getting ready to leave he says oh yeah, if you want we can go hunt Ohio this year. I almost died, and said what the hell do you mean? So he finished by saying his bosses brother lives there, has ~600 acres, and barely has time to hunt due to his job. His boss goes out every year and can never get anyone to go along with him. So he asked my buddy and told him to ask a couple of his. Now this makes 2 of my buddies that have "Ohio connections." Like I said before, there's no way I can get out this year, but next year is a different story. I'm hoping its not too good to be true, only time will tell.
  13. Sent this before I saw your latest post. Seems like he would rather have a reliable set of hands to help over a stack of cash. Bring a farmer myself, I can understand that.
  14. Maybe he's just hinting to you that he will be looking to take an offer like that if you don't counter offer? You said you paid $1200 a while back, maybe he's going to start expecting that instead of the steaks and roast. Just a thought.
  15. I'll probably end up buying one. They are pretty cheap and everyone who has one seems to love it.
  16. That bigger buck is super nice. And that one freak buck has some potential. Also like the piebald.
  17. I seem to run into the same problems. Maybe you can be my knew "pro shop"?
  18. Wow, 2 different bucks on camera during the day! Good luck!
  19. What a great looking buck! Hope you get him.
