  1. Scratch that, it's at least a 9. Probably not a shooter there though...
  2. Nice buck on there right now. Looks like a massive 8, but can't really tell with the IR.
  3. Finally was able to get out and mow the "new" plot I had mentioned earlier in the year. I put one cam at the apple trees (sorry for the crooked pics, cam slipped) and the other on a deer trail along the field edge (facing field). Pics are from Saturday to today from the plot. Nice looking young 8 point along with some freezer meat .
  4. Heck of an 8 point. Hope your buddy sends a pic when he's done growing.
  5. I may know of him...heard rumors about a man who was quite wealthy and owned land up north, piles of land.
  6. Couple of great bucks there. Good luck hunting them.
  7. I'm with the common consensus on this one, 2.5-3.5 and 100-110" at best. Still a nice buck though.
  8. I like those shows too. Some good hunts on public and private land. I particularly like FNE with Chris Brackett. He's insane, Booyah!
  9. Didn't Joe say he was changing his draw length to 28" or 28.5"?
  10. I wonder what the weight and straightness tolerances are. Doesn't say on the site.
  11. Don't do it Joe. If you have set your shooting range limit to 20 yards, just have 1 pin for now. You can kill anything under that with no adjustment. Then after more practice and some help from FSW, you can add a whole bunch of stuff.
  12. They lack the cutting diameter of the mechanicals. Other than that, decent broad head.
  13. Were you shooting them for practice and then never sharpened them before hunting? You should have no issue penetrating rib cage with any sharp broad head. Like they said above, may just be a tuning issue or improper arrow/broad head combo.
  14. Good to get them back isn't it? Nice buck!
  15. If you plan on doing this on a yearly basis I would suggest spending a decent amount of money on a good 4 season tent and good lightweight pack. I have a Eureka alpenlite xt tent that is absolutely amazing. I've had it for 5-6 years now and have spent many winter nights in it. Big enough for you and your gear, stays bone dry, and is pretty light. It is a bit pricey (~$250 when i bought it) but definitely worth it. And my pack is the Cabelas Alaskan outfitter series frame pack. Thing has been through hell and back. It too is pricey (~$200 when I bought it) but worth it. I know you said you were on a tight budget, but some things for camping are definitely worth spending money on and to me these are a couple of them. Just my 2 cents.
  16. If you do the ADKS, go when there is snow. Easier to track the few deer that are there.
  17. Tell me about it! I Must have shot 150 arrows since yesterday! Was up in the Adirondacks last week and it was in the low 40's at night. Really got the blood pumping for the fall.
  18. Some nice looking bucks. The one 8 is super nice, good luck!
  19. Some nice looking bucks Paula! Good luck
  20. Nice looking deer! I'm in a similar position as you as far as hunting goes. I haven't killed anything bigger than a 2 1/2 year old basket racked 7 point with my bow. I'm trying to hold out for at least a 3 1/2 year old, but if a stud 2 1/2 8 point walks by, I'm flinging carbon! I have a strict 3 1/2 year old policy with gun. Haven't shot a buck with gun in 2 years, and the last one was a 2 1/2 year old 9 point with a drop tine or else he would have walked. Good luck with your bow...but I hope you get a bigger one so he can grow another year!
  21. That's awesome. My dad is full Mohawk, but I don't play lacrosse!
  22. I've been shooting 4-5 times a week since the late season ended. Didn't mind shooting in the cold and don't mind shooting in the heat. Can't wait for Oct 1!
