New Gun Laws In The Works
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Steve D's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I think we need to get him hooked up with Slaughter's doctor. -
Dam. Didn't know they were 34" too. Finding a 34" arrow is like finding hen's teeth. You really get some strange comments when you ask about a 34" arrow. lol
-
I meant the Black Eagle Vintage 350's I picked up that were the full 34" length. I they are 9.8 gpi. I moved over to them to get rid of our length concerns when a broadhead is on.
-
By the time I get those 34" arrows I picked up last fall paired with a broadhead, fletched and ready to roll I may be pretty heavy. Arrow, insert, nock and 200 gr broadhead (If I settle there) is gonna have it at 560 and they aren't fletched yet

I absolutely believe they have the right. Even thought the rallies are organized by liberal teachers and Administrators, paid for by far left groups and most of the kids had no idea what they were even waling out for (besides getting some time out of the classroom). I just find it ironic that they are exercising one right to remove/give up another.

I watched my grandfather do this all the time with dwarf apple and pear trees. He had up to 5 varieties on a tree. He also used grafting wax but used a "V" graft. TI think the female V cut was in the host tree and male was on the graft. He had great success doing it. -
If you reload and want to take a peek at these. I have used some of their products on this site when I was trying to work up 12 gauge sabot loads. Only round ball, but would be fun plinking. http://www.ballisticproducts.com/28ga-LGS-28-carrier-ball-25_pak/productinfo/0721628/

.223 for deer how far would you shoot a deer with one ?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Hunter007's topic in Deer Hunting
Unless you are talking about really short distances I can't agree with that. in round numbers. a bullet traveling a 3200 fps and a deer at 50 yards broadside at 20 mph will cover about a foot and a half in the time it takes for the bullet to get there. (Take Doc's valid point of the up and down out of it for a minute). So if the cross hairs are on the heart and you squeeze off a perfect shot, that is a gut shot deer. I don't see any way around it. Bring it to 25 yards and it's just under 9" (and that is a constant bullet velocity) -

Is hunting policy science based?

Take a gander at "Raincoast Conservation Foundation" and that should tell you all you need to know. -
Who do you share your meat with?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
The decision for someone to take or not should not be base you what you think is right or wrong or whether a person has tags left over in their pockets. It really should be made on whether the population needs it or not. We have areas that lend themselves to taking as many as you can. The venison donation program is a good program. IMO -

It isn't that I didn't like Caribou but found it very bland tasting and the texture a bit more "mushy" than deer, elk or Moose. -
Well if you produced more for the same given time expended you could sell a bit and pay for the RO and get that gun...lol

Who do you share your meat with?
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Robhuntandfish's topic in Game Recipes / Cooking
The 4 guys in our hunting group really share all we take. We have one huge community chest freezer and we keep it there. Anyone needs any they go and get it. When we make our sausages it;s all in there as well. I share with a few relatives that don't hunt any longer and of course it is a mainstay as a dish for anyone that comes into camp. I also bring things to parties like the sausages or venison dishes. I like bringing that becasue it is something that not everyone gets all the time. Seems to always be a hit. -

You just keep feeding it to Momma. I want her happy and all rev'ed up to keep cooking for anyone you hunt with...lol. If she needs more I'll drive it down myself. -

From the water it's hard to beat perch and walleye. Nice very light batter. (Davies seafood on Stone road in Greece has the best) From the land, while I love marinaded venison backstrap (usually with Speedie sauce or steakhouse peppercoren) I have to give the nod to Elk. -
why would that be? Bacteria?

In the top menu he gives parts lists and links. Not sure if they all work or not
-
in a 24 hour period he took 140 gallons of sap down to 30 gallons of concentrate. And honestly, collect the water and use it. Has to be as good or better than bottled water.
-
yeah, gotta pipe it opposite than you would if you were using it to filter water. In this case the "filtered waste" is the product you want to keep...lol.
