  1. Those two lakes have some of the greatest fish in them, but are the two most stingy I have ever fished.
  2. Pain in the butt but I think you are going the right way. Better to have it perfect now than the wish you had later.
  3. damn. they should have shimmed before the plywood. Might sound silly but if the slope is in the right direction so the base will drain and the floor is straight (not level but straight) why shim? you doing tile or stone walls in the shower? A good tiler could make that disappear and then you dont have to worry about transitions that look bad at the door.
  4. JJB. is the shimming required at the door side of the room or at the "back wall" away from the door? If is is low in the room and the door is OK, I would rip up the sub floor. used 2x6 to splice on the sides of the existing floor joists and put new 3/4" plywood down on the floor. In an old hose it is a perfect time this way to inspect/improve the drain lines if flow had been an issue.
  5. if you are using a leveler the subfloor under it needs to be very rigid if the cement will "feather" from 0 to your depth. last thing you want is flexing and thermal movement in that or it will crack.
  6. if you are using a leveler the subfloor under it needs to be very rigid if the cement will "feather" from 0 to your depth. last thing you want is flexing and thermal movement in that or it will crack.
  7. If it's any consolation, I have "known" 3 redheads. All three were "boil your pet bunny in a pot" kind of psycho.
  8. Fab up an outrigger and you could dance in that canoe. We did it back when a buddy had a duck dog and we used to duck hunt out of canoe with an outrigger. the outrigger arms had a platform for the dog. not a speed demon to paddle but crazy stable.
  9. Great structure fishing. Dead falls, boulders, islands, deep pockets and swift current spots. Probably the highest concentration of tiger muskies on the canal. Great eyes in the pools and the smallies are everywhere
  10. No not all. and I think it would be even hypocritical on my part to assert that humans have no impact. we are here and polluting so we must have some. May point was more to the magnitude of our "footprint" when one natural event can dwarf one of the largest claimed contributors, (cars). I also don't get much information shown to me and can't find very good global warming supporting information that clearly explains how this cycle of warming is any different that hundreds of others that have taken place.
  11. My point was that the model is so dynamic that so many assumptions have to be made it can be steered toward whatever point either side is trying to make and when it is all said and done, one natural event cant dwarf our contributions to it. Humans were not a contributing force when the last ice age concluded in North America and that "warming" was to a greater degree and faster than we are experiencing now. That is not opinion or denying.
  12. Ever get further west and hit the "old" Mohawkriver areas?
  13. I do believe in global warming. It has happened may time before so to say it isn't happening is not realistic. I do not, however, believe it is US that is the major cause. When you can have one volcanic eruption and estimates show more greenhouse gas place in the atmosphere than every car since cars were invented, I think we are placing too much importance on humans.
  14. I don't think you do. you can even take the nuisance species outside the "normal season" but have to bury or cremate them.
  15. I don't have an issue with NICS either. But I think you are wrong in who is opposing it as a standard for all sales. I see the most opposition of any form of gun control coming from those that realize what the Anti's agenda really is. I think that anyone f us could craft better legislation that some of the hair brained ideas that get pushed out as bills and laws. The authors don't understand what they are talking about (or worse yet, they do and mislead on purpose). The anti's pat response is that more restrictions are required when the current ones don't yield the reduction in crime that they say is their goal. SO when laws are ill-crafted and fail it leads to a continuous push for more restrictions. And who gets restricted? Law abiding gun owners. It is said so much that is almost doesn't carry any weight but the criminals, by definition, don't follow laws.
  16. deadliest woodchuck bait going......marshmallows.
  17. Larry, Call Elite if you get in a bind. They are right be me in Henrietta and I could swing by and pick up for you.
  18. You posted in quotes and those are the quotes from the article author. did you want to post an actual link the Trump's comments in full context?
  19. I use a pretty small diameter pin and have never done this on my bow. i do use this method for iron rifle and pistol sights though
  20. Happy birthday, hope it is being spent on the water.
  21. I shoot a Hoyt Carbon Element. They don't make it anymore under that name but their carbon riser line is amazing, IMO. sticker shock though.
