This is how NY needs to handle poachers!
Culvercreek hunt club replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in General Hunting
Heck I think I have seen penalties lighter than that for vehicular manslaughter....not that I don't agree the penalties need to be stiffer but they have to fit in the scale of things. fining most of these folks could be hard It is that blood from a stone thing. Mandatory manual labor.....just like we should be doing with all the criminals in there. -

They should start charging for permits for other recreational use as we hunters and fisherman do...then they could gripe...until then I don't see the validity of their argument. -
the thought process behind the damage permits is that is SPECIFICALLY allows them to reduce population on or around that one area...which may have a higher than desired population yet the WMU may be at the desired level or below. Let's face it, the deer are drawn to the ag crops. you can get small resident herds that are high in numbers. If they issued doe permits they could be used anywhere in the WMU. WNY hit it on the head...issue based on damage first.....resident hunters second and non residents third.

Gun advice please
Culvercreek hunt club replied to Shoot_Straight's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Gotta agrre with you Steve. I have owned about a dozen Remingtons...have 6 of them currently......never had one issue. The only caution I will give on them (and this speaks to their auto loaders)....over oiling in cold weather is a recipe for malfunction. They like to be oiled then wiped off. I don't know if it is the tight machining or just a function of how they operate but heavy oiling and cold don't mix with them...from my experience. -
I watches several of the memorials and trubutes shown on TV this past weekend. Now it might have just been the ones I was watching....probably 6 recountings.....I found it odd that there was timelines and videos just after the first plane impact......right up to the second impact and skipped to the Tower #2 in flames. THey never showed any plane impact...never showed the plane impact at the pentagon. I initially thought they may be wanting to spare that image for anyone sensetive to such a thing....but then they did show folks jumping from the buildings. I ca't help but think it was ommitted on purpose. I made the mistake of watching one last night at around 8pm on th ehistory channel. It really brought back the fear and angy feelings. I canceled my crew that day...no one had their heads in the work and I was afraid working at 40' something would happen to someone. I really can't believe it has been 10 years.

LOL...I actually have quite a long list of things I would NEVER do for any amount of money.

I am not a corn meal fan so I usually skip that. Ingredients 4 large green tomatoes 2 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup cornmeal 1/2 cup bread crumbs 2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 quart vegetable oil for frying Slice tomatoes 1/2 inch thick. Discard the ends. Whisk eggs and milk together in a medium-size bowl. Scoop flour onto a plate. Mix cornmeal, bread crumbs and salt and pepper on another plate. Dip tomatoes into flour to coat. Then dip the tomatoes into milk and egg mixture. Dredge in breadcrumbs to completely coat. In a large skillet, pour vegetable oil (enough so that there is 1/2 inch of oil in the pan) and heat over a medium heat. Place tomatoes into the frying pan in batches of 4 or 5, depending on the size of your skillet. Do not crowd the tomatoes, they should not touch each other. When the tomatoes are browned, flip and fry them on the other side. Drain them on paper towels. I have also done them in a thin pancake batter too. That has more of a battered texture rather than a breaded.

My daughters boyfriend is taking his course and wants to hunt.....I do sense a little hesitation on his part, walking into the woods with me while I am carrying a loaded gun...lol. Seriously though, he will be going and I hope he gets hooked.

It takes a PILE of horn to make a 170...especially a typical. One think I do believe though....there IS a new state record walking the state every year......just gotta find him. -
That is one very cool cabin. I love the logs...much tougher wrestling with those than 2x4's...lol. If I recall correctly...I think Cabin built it

I agree with you Doc, A degree is not required or expected. For me anyways, part of the process and excitement of any pastime I take up.....is the understanding of it or at least trying to...lol. I enjoy golf....had a nasty slice....really got into looking at what causes it...the physics behind it...took me a long time but I have a very nice draw on my drives now....well most of the time .. would it make sense to go sit on the bank of one of the tributaries ...a mile up from Lake Ontario....In July and try your darndest to catch some salmon? not thinking that would work out too well. You need to have a basic understanding of the life cycle of the salmon t be successful. For whitetails....a basic understanding of the mating rituals...dietary habits...seasonal movements....it all helps....or you can pick a tree and lean up against it and see if anything happens by. That is fine too, what ever makes each of us happy. But this in one recreation...like many...that you get out of it what you put in.

Fred works hard at the office but spends two nights each week bowling, And plays golf every Saturday. His wife thinks he's pushing himself too hard, so for his birthday she Takes him to a local strip club. The doorman at the club greets them and says, ""Hey, Fred! How ya doin?" His wife is puzzled and asks if he's been to this club before. "Oh no," says Fred. "He's in my bowling league." When they are seated, a waitress asks Fred if he'd like his usual and Brings over a Budweiser. His wife is becoming increasingly uncomfortable and says, "How did she know that you drink Budweiser?" "I recognize her, she's the waitress from the golf club. I always have A Bud at the end of the 1st nine, honey." A stripper then comes over to their table, throws her arms around Fred, Starts to rub herself all over him and says, "Hi Freddie. Want your usual table dance, big boy?" Fred's wife, now furious, grabs her purse and storms out of the club. Fred follows and spots her getting into a taxi. Before she can slam the door, he jumps in beside her. Fred tries desperately to explain how the stripper must have mistaken Him for someone else, but his wife is having none of it. She is screaming at him at the top of her lungs, calling him every four Letter word in the book. The cabby turns around and says: "Geez Fred, you picked up a real bitch this time."

Heartbreaker - Cars Suck!!!! trying pic again

That sucks.....saw one on 390 last week....really nice body size but the head had been removed...it was a car hit but someone must have come across it and took the head. -
They will probably tell you what others have said here.....outside the right-of-way. Now for the disclaimer. many roads have varying distances for a ROW. some places have a set distance off centerline...other ROW's wander based on the land assumed by the road owner....(State, county, town). A quick trip to the office to look at the tax maps will clearly show what impacts are at that particuliar lot.
