  1. If it's DEP land, you can easily walk along it and look for posted signs that indicate what scripture are permitted. DEP does require a permit in order to access their land.
  2. Since we can't have silencers in NY, how about an airgun?
  3. Toilet paper is also very handy to have on you as it is, so it has a dual purpose now.
  4. You can still harvest it. Call DEC and they should have no problem issuing you a tag for it.
  5. Thanks Jennifer! It can wait, this is for my recurve, and it's just come out of the closet after 15 years.
  6. I hang deer by the neck, don't think it impeding difference since it's dead.
  7. You obviously don't visit the financial center then Biz. I still know guys that smoke at least a pack a day.
  8. Welcome vincy, there's a few of us here that are also from NYC.
  9. I'd also go with the 10/22. At 100 yards, the energy from a 10/22 can still penetrate the skull of a human head. Accuracy however, is another story.
  10. I'll have to agree with Elmo here, the 1322 will not meet the 600 fps requirement as a DEC hunting implement, regardless to the fact that it has more killing power than that of the little brother, 1377. With that, there is a new pistol that Crosman has that can, it's the Benjamin Marauder Pistol, PCP. That bad boy should have enough power to dispatch any small game, including coyotes. Problem is, it's pricey and requires an air source such as a pump or HPA air tank. If air pistols is legal, I would stick with the 1377, pumped 10 times and find the best pellet for it in terms of going after squirrels. I shoot explosively JSB 8.44 grain lead pellets in my springer, and a lighter 7.4-7.9 grain in my pumps. I prefer a more hollowpoint pellet for the pumps, as I'm most likely closer range with the pump. Graybeard, if you need to check the speed, I have a chrony that you can use.
  11. Me either, but YouTube says flight feathers are better. Beggars can't be choosers, so any that's not wanted I'll take and make the best out of them until I can figure out what's what.
  12. Deadline to pay is the 20th, but weigh-in seems to be late into the year. Seems a little steep for entry, for a small payout.
  13. Maggots only eat dead tissue. Usually, a secondary after an injury. So back to the question, what caused the injury?
  14. How about breathing out the nose instead? Should help right?
  15. If the road conditions and car has the proper suspension and tires, I don't see why not. Know your capabilities and that of your equipment and conditions.
  16. Most guys prefer to just get a Jon boat for ducks in LI.
  17. Fai, dogs are not required to hunt, but some folks refuse to hunt without one, since it's very enjoyable to use dogs for pheasants, ducks, and rabbit. But it's not required, and one can still be very successful without them. The stick in the shotgun is just to fill the ammo reservoir so that you cannot have more than 3 bullets/shells in the gun at any given time. If you have a single shot or dual barrel break action, you need not worry.

    tags?

If you fish, it's a no brained to get the super sportsman, as you get an extra tag free.
  19. Arrow was recovered. Great shot and thanks for sharing the experience.
