  1. The problem is that everyone is going to college today, even those students that are not college material. Colleges should not have to offer remediation courses/programs. Some students are being accepted into college on temporary probation programs because they didn't make adequate grades in high school. Years ago they simply wouldn't of been accepted. Today it plain and simple greed!! This greed is flooding the job markets and children are now living with their parents well into their thirties because they can't find jobs. I have to kids of my own and I would never tell them not to go to college, however, I am definately going to encourage them to learn a trade. With the cost of living being what it is, children will need every advantage they can get so not to be a drain on society. If we want to fix the economy we should stop attacking the men and women who are actually working, union or non-union, and find a leader that has enough guts to go after the drains of society that have not worked in years because its easier to simply collect a check from the government that they have not earned!!! Plain and Simple!!!
  2. Sounds about right for NYS... good things the tags only cost $98 bucks!!! I'd like to see what happens when someone shoots a doe during bow or muzzleloader season and they don't have the tag to transport the deer. Then we will see who's fault it is!
  3. Basement looks awesome!!! The pride of accomplishment and knowing you did it yourself is "priceless"!!!! Great job
  4. I can finally say that all food plots are in... it definately was a tough summer with the little rain that we got! I need to trim a few lanes and mow trails at the end of August. Now is the time that I really start putting up my trail cams. My buddy and I bought one of those large coleman cooler for an early October deer. We were thinking that we could pack in the cooler if we shot a deer Saturday morning and it would be good for the four hour drive Sunday afternoon. Just something I don't want to have to think about!!! Cant freakin wait!!!!!
  5. Got my landowner tag in 4f and 1c... my buddy got his for 4f as well... hope dad does too?
  6. Wowwww, those are some incredible deer... have you seen deer of that quality during previous seasons?
  7. Western... your food plots look great!!! I didn't realize that you could broadcast the corn seed??? Squirels and other wildlife dont find the seed??? Do you drag the corn after you broadcast it? This is my favorite part of this website!! I really enjoy seeing the pictures of everyones hard work!!!!
  8. As usual... your effort and plots are incredible. Makes me wish I was up at my property doing something productive!!! You should have a great season!

    100 Days

This site states that the October Youth Hunt has not been passed as of yet. Has anybody heard differently?
  10. Thanks guys... I was thinking about adding the urea next time I head up but im afraid that if it doesnt rain soon after it will burn out the brassica? Not sure what to do???
  11. I finally got up to my property this weekend to check the brassica food plot that I planted three weeks ago and I was surprised at how full it looks. This food plot is adjacent to my neighbors field that he hays and backs right up to my pond. Hopefully it attracts some deer later in the season and the deer dont devour it too quickly. I also got to till to other quarter acre plots, fertilized, and planted some no-plow. I even got a chance to do a little fishing in my pond... not a bad weekend!!!
  12. I shot a deer two years ago on Long Island during the first week of October and the doe two small wounds at the bottom of her brisket. It really is amazing what they endure and the fact that someone had to shoot at her well before the season began!!
  13. Wow... your plots look great!!! Lots of hard work!!! Quick question... do oats gets sewn like corn or can you spread them with a seeder?
  14. That's really cool. It drives my wife nuts when I stop to look at deer when we are driving somewhere!!! My kids love it though so I dont care. lol
  15. Great video... it has to be tough to film and hunt together. Was the deer footage from upstate or Long Island?
  16. Beautiful deer...was the 9pt taken upstate?
  17. Would be really interesting if you were able to post some of their hunting pictures Paula.
  18. Congrats on a beautiful trophy!!! The mount is gorgeous!!!
  19. I am well aware that it's ilegal to bait in season as well as out of season. I do believe that it gives hunters an unfair advantage during the season, however, my question is how is it that the DEC officers are aware of the baiting you spoke of. Do they walk people's property or do they go based on tips of neighbors that trespass and walk people's property without permission?
  20. Just like unemployment, there needs to be a timeline on how long somebody can collect welfare. Otherwise, it becomes an endless cycle and for the most part this is all the children of welfare recipients come to know!!!
