  1. Got to have Yuenglings and sabret hotdogs.
  2. Last year I purchased a .308 Savage model 10 bolt action and was lucky enough to use it twice during rifle season. I shot a 6pt and a doe at roughly 40 yards and the blood trails were incredible. Both deer dropped after running 20 yards. I couldn't be happier!!!
  3. Great pics!!! Seeing big deer like that definately adds to the anticipation of the upcoming season. With the earlier start for bow season this year you should have a good chance seeing them in their normal feeding patterns. Good luck!!!
  4. Real great pics especially the view from the ladderstand! How deep is the pond?
  5. Never thought that would be such an issue? This may sound like a stupid question but how long till a fawn is up on their feet? Wouldn't they hear the equipment coming??? It seems odd to me that if the fawns were just born that they would be in a farmers field and not in deep cover somewhere in the woods?
  6. Great video... just like watching the sportsman channel!

    Rain

Couldn't be more excited!!! Drove 4 hours to property Friday morning and planted annuals (brassica and turnips) in three different food plots. I tried to plan the planting around the rain especially since my corn crop failed. Hoping when I go back up in two weeks I'll see some growth!!
  8. Plots look great!!! I planted whitetail's power plant last year and the deer were in it all summer and used it for cover and bedding in the early fall.
  9. Anybody know what type of grass this is? It looks almost like a low lying fern... not really sure? I have it in some of my food plots and its impossible to get rid off. I've tried roundup, used the weed wacker, and tilled it with no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys
  10. Great pictures Paula and a beautiful piece of land!
  11. Still looks great Split!! I wonder how the farmers near me in Richmondville already have corn around 2 feet???
  12. This year was my first attempt at a corn plot and it was a huge failure. I disked the soil over and over, spread lime, and had a soil test done. I got rr corn from nwtf and planted it roughly an inch deep on Memorial day weekend and when I got up to my property last weekend I couldnt find a single sprout of corn growing. I have no idea what I did wrong??? I thought that it might of been due to the fact that i sprayed the field with round up just prior to planting but the guy at agway said that it would not of effected the corn. Could I possibly of gotten a bad bag from nwtf? Any thoughts on what I did wrong? The year prior I grew powerplant from whitetail institute in the same field with success so not really sure what could of happened????
  13. Nice!!! New toys are definately exciting!!!
  14. The problem today is that kids have too many rights and the consequences are far and few in between. The kids today know it!!! There is such a lack of respect for themselves, peers, as well as adults. As a teacher, it is very rare to see students that are well behaved and make the right decisions. Parents are definately to blame. When an administrator attempts to discipline students whether it be school suspension or the student is denied the right to attend a school function today's parents are hiring lawyers. And this in the students' eyes makes their behavior ok!
  15. I agree with Culvercreek, google earth gives a lot of detail. Time lapses, elevation, and a tool for measuring distances is great to have!
  16. Great story!!! I was waiting to see the pic of your trophy!!
  17. Nice deer...being able to look back and see the progression along with sheds is really cool!
  18. Nice pics paula... hope he sticks around.
  19. Plots and property look nice. I have never had luck with sunflowers as well. Last year I planted whitetail's powerplant which is a blend of sorghum and sunflowers. The sorghum looked great and deer loved it for bedding, but I never saw any sunflowers. I can't wait to get up and check plots. Hopefully I will have some pictures to post this weekend.
