    Fire one shot on 1/11/2014 at 12 noon. to protest the 1st. anniversary of the NYS "Safe Act". The Springville field & stream club wants all gun owners in NY state to fire a symbolic shot at 12 noon to protest the safe act & show support to the 2nd amendment. REMEMBER TO FIRE YOUR SHOT IN A LEGAL & SAFE MANNER !! Pass the word, AND be Safe & Legal !! You can find this story in the " N.Y. Outdoor News" paper.

    I have 3 different ones (trial & error) before what I think is the better one. I think the hub set up easy, & if you are using it for bow make sure it is big enough to come to full draw so you don't have to screw around moving to get the arrow out of the window to make the shot. I can't think of the name but it was from Dicks. Big ,roomy, hub set up., jmho. Sorry about the double post!

    Years ago we would hunt rabbits & grouse at the same time & get many of both. One of the guys would get his limit of grouse many times(dead eye). We would always hear & see quite a few ,I would get 4 - 5 a season & he would get 3 - 4 a day. All we hunted was within a hr. of buffalo. Now its hard to find one in those same areas.

    Great pics. again thanks. I just saw/read where there are more Snowy Owls in our area (wny) this yr. than in the pass. & the experts aren't sure why but they are nice to see.

    Go for it! I had chances to go on elk hunts yrs. ago & didn't go , my screw up! Had young family, new house, good job but didn't go. Now retired , bad knees,& never got to elk hunt & half of my hunting buddies are dead, I say go for it & enjoy!

    Wooly, I raised a porker like that when I was a kid only in reversed colors, he(Wilber) was mostly white with a red shoulder band around him. But he did taste good when his time came.

    Agreed 100% If they want them gone they should allow shoot on sight or they will never get rid of them.

    Gentleman = a guy that gets out of the shower to pi$$ in the toilet then gets back in the shower! My neighbor would whip it out wherever he was standing anytime of day or night & go,& didn't care who was there. He had his whole yard & every tree marked as his territory !

    Elephant rub! Love that 16ga. model 37! That was my first gun I bought 50 yrs. ago & took my first deer ever with it & still have it. I also had a red dot on mine at one time. Killed alot of rabbit,grouse & pheasant with it .

    Not when they have to find the right cc then wait for the receipt to print out, then sign it ,then have the cashier give them the right one. I say have your cash ready check item ,pay, & move on. Express.

    All good advice here, walk slow, scan around slow. I always try to stop & stand next to a tree. Notice most things in the woods are vertical so look for horizontal, the back of the deer. Look for a wet nose, eye, ear, tip of an antler, white throat patch, flick of a tail, moving legs & feet under the trees, etc. Pick up your feet & don't snap the twigs under them. I like to look out as far as I can see then scan the woods working my eyes back in closer. Learn to use the wind in your favor. Work at it, its fun. Good luck! jmho.

    Or how about going to the express check out line & people start writing checks or using credit cards, should be cash only & the stores should have their fastest check out person in that lane!

    Got up at 5:15 am , saw 15*, went back to bed. First TG day I missed in 48 yrs. of deer hunting! Feels weird(getting old I guess). But the son-in -law shot a nice 9 pt. near my stand (said he wasn't in it ,I bet!) this am. More power to him.

    Light the heater on the grd. before going up! Good idea, a bit bigger than those camo unbrellas. How's it work for seeing out of?

    Congrats, nice first buck! I say mount it, maybe a european or one of the camo skull mounts. If you want to save a few $$$.

    My 30-06 & NEF single shot 20 ga. both zeroed in at 100 yds. Still have to shoot the muzzle loader to check it at 100 yds. Haven't used my 870 / 12 ga in yrs.
