Channel 2 in Buffalo is doing a survey & so far over 50% want to raise the age to hunt.

According to the General License info. on page 12 in the Hunting & trapping syllabus a junior youth ages 12-15 already can hunt small & big game if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian using a gun, bow, or X bow so isn't this already in effect? I am for a lower age but with an adult.

I never had one & when my Dr. ask I say why put it in my system if it's not there now. My niece who is a Dr. of pharmacy just said if you haven't had it by now this year it's too late people should have gotten them months ago.

So I went to Cabela's to buy some 22 cal. shorts & they lol & said they haven't had or made them in yrs. I came home & googled them & Cabela's shows that they carry them. So I ordered online get ready to check out & their alert pops up saying they cannot send them to the NY. store for me to pickup! I call customer service & say if they were stocked in the store & on the shelf I could walk in & buy them! I said if you restock the store shelf isn't the ammo shipped from somewhere & anyone can go in & buy it?! Does this make any sense or is it just me? WTH. Stupid "safe act" & King Andy!

Hard to believe the DEC. couldn't have tracked the dog home & got the owners. The other thing is a well trained coon dog most likely would not have bothered with a deer.

Years ago there were poster sings that stated "Hunting with written permission only." The land was posted but you had to talk to the owner & get the written permission slip & carry it with you. That way a person could hunt & the owner knew who was on their land. I believe leasing land for hunting has screwed hunting access up in NY & other states. jmo.

We did shoot bows in the "60's" in gym class but never got into the billy club thing! I must be older than Larry. lol

So many of hunting with my dad & his crazy buddies laughing , jerking around & shooting deer too! He had a favorite tree stump he always sat by & would shoot his deer & when we would meet up later in the day he would say " go get him he is laying by the big oak tree" every year he would get his deer there. The other thing is I would call & say I am hunting in the morning & he would always reply "you going then I going!" & he was going until he was 71! I always had a hunting buddy ,no questions asked. I could go on forever, Now I am only 3 years away from 71 myself. WTH.

Breakfast quiche(eggs cheese beacon) & hamburger/cheese quiche are delicious, Try some!.

They have the NASP archery program in the Akron & Alden school systems. Also Alden & Lancaster schools had the best rifle teams in WNY for years.

I was always told a DEC officer has the most legal authority of any cops. I have seen Dec. pull into a guys yard & drive right up to him while he was cutting his grass because they thought he might have been involved in a poaching incident.

I use to fish a lot of the lake Ontario tourneys for trout & salmon & the Southtown walleye tourney for many yrs. We never won 1st place but did get close a few times. We did win big fish of the day a few times. My buddy that I fished with yrs. ago did take 1st place a few times & won over $40,000 & a boat through the yrs. but I was not on his crew at those times, (he always said I was bad luck) lol. Now I fish for myself & friends mostly lake trout, salmon & walleyes. We also fish the lower Niagara river.

Wolc, nice story. I have your exact gun set up mod.37. 16 ga. with 1.5 weaver but I haven't used it in years, actually was my first shot gun 50+ yrs. ago they are a great little gun. I took a lot of deer with it. Last few yrs. I use a rifle or ML.

If I didn't shoot it I wouldn't take it but I would tell the land owner about it. Hopefully the shooter would find it.

Let's try real honesty, How many would let a nice buck, 8-10 pt., not a record buck walk if he was standing 2 ft. on the wrong side of the poster sign & you had a perfect broad side shot, couldn't miss. Would you shoot it?

Go get him for sure but gut on our property. One time we went to ask permission & the guy wasn't going to let us get the deer until we explained the rotting & wasting to him then he said ok.

Where does our all our registration $$$$ go? It should go into a trail system. Which would be nice!

Rumor has it that Lemonis is anti-gun & ammo & also against hunting. I was told this by one of the firearm sales persons at the Tonawanda store when they first started going out of business. I don't need to go to his stores!
