  1. That would be cool grampy. I assume these are all late night hunts?
  2. We have removed the bottom section when trespassers set stands on our property with a note that they can have it back when they remove the rest. Seems odd that they only took the bottom section. You sure they didn't think you were trespassing? Maybe neighbors had property lines messed up. Might be worth asking the closest neighbor.
  3. Like to give it a shot myself grampy. Never tried it before.
  4. His max range is 28yds beyond his sight in range (all under 75yds). I guarantee (money back) that he will be just fine if zeros at 47 or 1" high there for a 75yd shot. We all know it would be better to sight in farther, but lets be serious here.
  5. Probably should have proof read this first, but you get the idea. Good luck with whatever you purchase.
  6. I had a BAR is 30-06. I was reliable and certainly held hunting accuracy.
  7. Submit it to the experts in the QDMA magazine. They tend to have differing views on close calls too.
  8. Neck meets brisket low, stained tarsals and he looks front heavy - my guess is 3.5. No sagging in belly or back that would suggest older.
  9. Sorry Chris but to arc it would have to rise above the the line of the barrel. It never does. It constantly drops from that line whether you shoot up or not. The line to measure from is the straight line of the barrel. Not some level line. That's physics.
  10. The slug doesn't arch, it just seems that way since the scope is above the barrel. The slug drops from the start and continues (as speed slows, the drop is greater over a given distance), but you sight in such that the drop is dead on at your sight-in range. If you are 2.5" low at 25 and your scope is only 1" above the barrel, you will be shooting low at 100yds - how much, I have no idea.
  11. 4 ozonic machines so that no matter what way the wind shifts, the deer will never smell me. Trying to figure out how to carry them all to my stand. Better add a wheelbarrow to the list.
  12. Prayers sent. You were blessed. Your family is safe despite a terrible fire. Everything else will be replaced in time.
  13. I expect to kill a decent buck in archery, but when the guns go off, its like I am hunting unicorn - a myth at best. lol
  14. Weird, I had exactly the same number of mature bucks come by my stand during gun as last year and the year before - 0. At least I am consistent.
  15. I agree that its best to shoot the gun at the your max range, but sighting in 1" high at 50 should put you close to dead on at 100.
  16. Pretty sure we didn't hit 20s or I would have been snuggled up in the carpeted bed of my truck. Despite some suggestions to the contrary, that DID NOT HAPPEN. Probably did hit high 20s some mornings but I guess I was just emphasizing how bad the weather was this season. Never had a decent cold streak and I miss the snow while hunting.
  17. Not sure if you would cook it for 9 hours on the grill, but it does seem to cook away completely in the crock pot. Checking at hour 6, I was nervous as it was still rubbery, but by hour 9, it was falling apart with no silver skin or connective tissue to be found.
  18. Not sure we even fell below 30 in 8h. Not by much, that's for sure.
  19. We had one on cam this year shot by a hunter 5 miles away only a couple of days later. No doubt it was the same deer. They can move.
  20. Get while they last if you are in the market: https://www.hitthebreakroom.com/ I picked up a pair of Lacrosse quad comfort 4x8 with 400g for $52 shipped. At least 65-75% off normal price.
