So for those of you that place killing a big buck, or bigger than last year's buck, as your primary objective when hunting, how would your future hunting change if you knew for certain that YOUR buck of a lifetime is already hanging on your wall? Stop hunting, look for a new type of game, continue hunting for the second biggest buck of your life? Just curious.

Congrats!

I will look around Law. If I have any, you are welcome to them.

My food saver has worked flawlessly except when it overheats. Then I let it rest for 5 min and all is good. I can usually get through a deer without overheating but when making large batches of sausage it will need a break. I buy rolls and they aren't cheap.

Really good 2.5yr old or 3.5 year old
moog5050 replied to LIWaterman's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
First pic he looks more like a 2.5 and more like a 3.5 in second pic. Hard to say for just these two photos. I am going to guess 3.5. Prove me wrong. lol -
http://www.fahrenheittocelsius.com/ Just saved you $400 Biz. Don't go spending it on a mall parking permit. lol

I started recording sightings, shot opportunities, wind , time, etc at the beginning of the year. Quit by November. Too much work for me and I got lazy. I can tell you where bucks were shot and the dates/approx. times though. lol

Wow, lots of variety here. Not sure all constitute hobbies as I spend varying degrees of time with them, but my interests include hanging with the family, powerlifting, cold-water fishing (salmon/trout), traditional archery, motorcycles, and movies (time period movies preferred). The goals this year are to drop some lbs (no need to be a super heavyweight anymore as my serious competition phase is over) and stop chewing tobacco for good. One day clean now. lol.

That's really nice of you Larry. Text me the number and I will enter (kinda like the 50-50 raffle at all the Italian bachelor parties). LOL Have a Happy and Safe New Year!

wildcat, my understanding is that its scopes with FFP where the reticle size changes with magnification, which is preferred by many Europeans. SFP reticles remain constant. In any event, both my Zeiss conquest and HD-5 are really made for American hunters and the reticle remains constant. They do tend to be a bit heavier but that doesn't bother me much. I have some fixed 4x Leupolds that are great for the price. I never purchased a higher end leupold but did have a VX-I which I did not like because the mag adjustment was very stiff. Maybe that's not true of the higher end models.

eurooptics had some of the zeiss conquest 3x9 for $300 - great scope and more than $200 off since they came out with the new line.

Does anyone use low powered scopes?
moog5050 replied to Borngeechee's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
Pygmy, that what I love about you. You don't view any of your admitted shortcomings as a handicap - even man boobs. lol May your New Year be filled with many more trophies taken with a fixed 4x. -
Cant believe he was 83. He must have been pretty old when I saw him play.

Anybody hunt with Sage or Martin Cypress recurve bows?
moog5050 replied to halfnelson's topic in Bow Hunting
Had a sage for a while. For the money, its a great bow. Stock string is loud, but for $15 it can be replaced. -
spot hogg! Very durable sights. I use the hunter, but there are plenty of models to choose from. Once you become accustomed to moving the pins, they are easy to set, but some never seem to get comfortable with it. It takes some finesse but once set, they stay set.

I worked security at the last dead show in Rochester. I think I was a senior in high school. The attendees were much more of a show than the band. Pretty amusing. Between the balloon whippets (sp?) with people inhaling and falling on their face and others that clearly hadn't bathed in some time, barefoot and selling peanut butter sandwiches to fund the drive to the next show (or whatever), it was quite the show. Oh and no dead heads found so far.

Happy Birthday! Lots of BDays in December.

Have a great BDay!

I didn't receive any gifts hunting related, but when my son asked what I wanted a week before Christmas, my 6 year old daughter said "daddy wants a new gutting knife and new gun." I told my wife and son to ask my daughter from now on. lol

Happy B Day!

That's a big yote predate.

It's just another type of gun. And price wise, there are many airguns that cost thousands. Some you can buy for less than $150. Not much different than powder burners in that respect either.
