  1. Take back to Dick's I am sure they would replace it at no charge...
  2. If you get no help from the bow shop and they will not change to the other sight for you. I would then look at the local newspaper and se if they have a help section. I know I just about went crazy years ago with a mower I purchased from a large National firm and could not keep it running, it would burn out a belt after just one mowing job. The local newspaper called the dealer and said they would post my concerns over the products he sold, within a hour they gave me full credit and I returned the bad mower to them for full credit. I then purchased a different mower product from them.
  3. I will be out there for a few hours, I go for the first two and last two most of the season till the rut. Then stay out all day. They are just calling for 30 to 40 % chance of rain showers. So I will see, if it heavy rain I just at my age (74) and being retired wait for another day.
  4. Do not use any scent doe lure now, wait till the rut is on and use both the doe in heat and just plain doe. I do take extra care in making myself and or the hunting togs do not smell. I wash myself and also the hunting togs with soap (no scent ) and also some baking soda. Seems to do the trick.
  5. If it is a adult doe, I sure will take it. Meat on the table is a +. Then I can just sit back and see if a good buck comes on by...
  6. I put out a orange 12 inch marker at 25 yards, if a deer is inside they he or she is within the kill zone for me.
  7. Mine white now also, so no more being a beard in the hunting season. I now use a camo face net.
  8. I use a one pin sight that is set at 25 yards,. hold one inch low for a close shot and on the shoulder for out to 30 yards...
  9. Yes 1 pin sighted in for 25 yards. seems to meet all my needs for hunting in the woods and not in open field areas.
  10. $30 is right on line to install a peep and D loop.
  11. they came by again last night. the cat saw them and was going nuts . It must be we had a dray and warm nesting time this year and I bet we will all have a better turkey season this fall.
  12. My wife and I started a new archer yesterday, he was 23 years old, never had a bow in his hand. He now has a older Alpine bow 2012 and a doz Easton carbon arrows that I gave him and a finger tab. Set the bow up at 50 lbs and 30 inch draw. He tried a release and could not get it to work for him. With the tab he was hitting a 4 inch circle on a bag target at 12 yards. He left saying he will as time permits work with the bow, as I also gave him a bag target top take home. Take you Walmart for the plastic bags that fill the target bag He is my grandgirl boy friend. My wife and I told him that with archery, you start a life long fun sport
  13. I had 3 female turkey and 18 baby pass by the house yesterday evening. Boy did they look great.
  14. If you shoot the arrow and it hits to the left of the target spot, then you have to move the sight to the left, if the arrow hits to the center of the spot you are shooting at but is low then you move lower the sight and this will raise were the arrow will hit.
  15. I take a book to read in the non hot hours and or even a FM radio with a ear speaker .
  16. god bless her and so sorry at your loss.
  17. that the way to do it. and if they say no make sure you thank them .
  18. back off the field edge . you will see less but have more shots of the deer as they come into the field and or off...
  19. I hate all of the new upgrade. wish you would also let me have it in the old way.
  20. I hate this new format. Not as easy to read, and or to find info. Is it just me and or are you also do not like the change.
  21. went in and got my bow and black powder today and also got a gun / doe permit for 7M. I shoot about 30 arrows a day at marked and or not marker 3 D deer targets. I am ready, come on Oct 1.....
  22. sounds like a great setup. I have a check it bow at 45 lbs, with 29 1/2 inch carbon arrows and 125 gr muzzy BH's.
  23. to get ready for the 2016 season I shoot my bow all year long. Most days I shoot about 20 arrows from unmarked range out to max of 30 yards. At 74 years young it is a requirement for me to keep the shooting form. I also take walks thru the areas I hunt to see if the deer has changed there normal areas they are in, such as bedding area to there food sources.
  24. start close and work on your form. 10 yards is a place to start from. As you get use to drawing, aim and release of the arrow you should get good groups of arrows in the spot. Then move back another 5 yards...
