  1. One of the reasons im getting one of the german versitile breeds is I can train it to blood trail deer. Blood trailing a deer is a lot of fun when its easy, but man does it suck when its hard. Id also like to volunteer for deer search as well
  2. I read your last post on that and have actually been thinking of adding some more weight up front with a screwin brass thing. Ill see how it goes with out, but if its not working well, thats what ill do.
  3. I use mechanicals and have always used them, but that was due to not knowing how to tune my bow properly. After I get my bow tuned this year, I might try a fixed blade on a doe and see how I like them. One thing i love about mechanicals is the great blood trail, but the poor penetration isnt fun to deal with tbh
  4. There are deer in oyster bay all the time now. Ive seen deer the last 2 years on the northern state parkway by the glen cove exit. Ive seen their tracks in my fishing spot in Great Neck so the're moving west little by little.
  5. In total I can technically hunt 223 acres if i wanted to, but I never hunt more than about100 of them. I just got permisson to hunt some new private ground, but I havent seen the guy in a little while so I don't know how much land he has
  6. I usually dont get mine until late july. Not sure why since theyre always printed in early may?
  7. Looks great! Definitely cant dispute the age when it comes from a lab
  8. I think you can buy something to put on the M1 that will help regulate the gas and allow you to use modern ammo
  9. Thats exactly what I want. You know a place to get one?
  10. Taking a deer with a garand is a goal of mine too. I need to buy a garand first though lol
  11. My self and a few members on here have been thinking of trying them. A guy I shoot with told me hes been using one since 96 and he said he almost never hunts a tree stand now. He says that its one of the best systems out there. Its a bit expensive to get into, but it looks worth it.
  12. I havent got`lost but I have been turned around for a bit. Like I came out somewhere a little further down than I thought I would be. Its a scary feeling when even that happens. Good thing I don't hunt anywhere that I could be lost for more than a few hours with out hitting a house or road.
  13. Take a look at the slick trick standards. Smaller cutting diameter and extreemly sharp. Not a bad deal when gotten from walmart either. 30 bucks for 4 isnt bad at all
  14. Of course they were the day I wasnt there lol
  15. Wow now I wish i was there. What were they hitting on?
  16. I was actually just thinking the same thing! He should be at his camp now.
  17. Trust me, i really wanted to come too lol. Almost was able to move things around too, but no dice. We'll all get out together sometime soon hopefully!
  18. Haha im out this time too. We have to pick a day and go up together
  19. Good luck up there! I thought i was going to be able to come, but no dice. Let us know how you do
  20. you're just staying the afternoon and leaving at dark I assume?
  21. My grandparents found pot years ago and called the local cops. Local cops went and said there was no evidense of any pot being grown. Not possible because my grandparents brought home one of the plants to see what it was so its obvious it was there. From that point on, I havent trusted the local cops.
  22. I say call the troopers and not the local cops. You never know if the local cops are letting it slide because they know the guy or maybe in on it themselves. The Troopers will definitely take it seriously and handle it.
